I fear however that the horror genre is something to which I have never developed any attraction.

I was impressed by "The Shining" back in the day, but that's about all the Stephen King I need. I read "The Stand" on the recommendation of my girlfriend at the time. She was pissed cause I wasn't as impressed. I think she was looking to start a book club or something. I rarely read books a second time unless they are exceptional and it's been a long time since I read it. They are usually not as good the second time around because of the lack of intrigue. I normally give fiction books away or trade with somebody once I've read them.

As I indicated I'm not a big re-reader, but there's highly select stuff I've seen (movies, TV shows) that I've re-watched...sometimes pathologically often.

Like, [Scrubs], the series, which I've watched all 9 seasons 3 times so far, and through the power of the internet and my Synology NAS box back home I'm kicking off another binge watch with Season 1 Episode 1, with Doctor Cox tearing JD a new orifice. Fun!

I enjoyed the film "Garden State". I could probably watch that again.

I always felt like "Scrubs" was missing a drum track. You know, "badoom tssh".

Boston's "More Than a Feeling" was forever changed in my mind.

In Detroit, after throwing down a couple Molson XXX ethane bombs, I was quite pleased to see Cox on the big screen ranting the Red Wings. It was at a Wings game, only seen it played one time but it was enough to remember.

"For the next 20 minutes you will sit in silence while I tell you why the Detroit Red Wings are the greatest franchise in professional sports"

For me it takes something special like On the Road 50th anniversary edition in 2007. Funny, I liked it a lot more when I was in my 20's.
When my wife turned 42 I bought The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide for her and read some of that content, but not all of it. I should crack that one open again. I tend to start talking and thinking in Douglas Adams cadence when I do, which annoys me at times, but it is a fun read.

I learned when I was young that youth is wasted on the young so I didn't wait to get old... I haven't given a f--- since I was a kid and I've loved the life I had since (at least until the injury )

It's really hot and humid here.
You know what I hate about touching up the house paint on hot humid days? I mean besides the heat, the humidity, trying not to sweat into the paint, trying to keep sweat out of your eyes, trying to paint fast enough to keep the brush from drying up, trying not to paint your face wiping sweat out your eyes, digging bees out of the paint?

Subject: the tyranny of momentum.

I've not been brewing as long as many on here, nor as frequently, and definitely not as well, although well enough for me. For years I've used garden hose spigot and RV water hose from front of house into garage, sorry, Brewery, to fill and to chill. I made a quick upgrade to a garden hose valve so I didn't have to run out and shut off the water. And I put up for YEARS with unscrewing the hose and screwing on the pond pump when chilling with ice in a cooler.

And it caught up with me finally when the plastic threads on the plastic garden hose shut off finally said, "no mas". And I finally upgraded to brass with quick disconnects on pond pump, RV hose, and hose bib. Why? Why did it take so very long? Why?

I fixed all the mildly annoying little things in my old house so that I could put it on the market and sell it. When it was all done and freshly painted, I was questioning whether to move.

Yeah... shouldn't put those things off... the sooner you do them, the more you get to enjoy them!

I always try to fix problems as they present themselves with my buildings and equipment, but it is easy to get overwhelmed with the work list and lose seance of priorities. Especially with work/day job and all.

Perhaps I'm doomed, I just bought another m 1031 to save it from being parted out, and a friend of a retired contractor is trying to get me to take a non running Cat TH-63 out of his yard, (since I presumably know how to work on them since I have one), however it it might be a good deal, [;

Alas, toys and hobbies are supposed to be fun, and very little of working on a 10 ton, 30 year old piece of worn out equipment is fun. This seems more like a masochistic compulsion, plus I'm trying to help the guy out, and there may be modest profit involved as well.

I will admit I sometimes prefer this sort of thing to my real day job, at least until I'm under the machine with diesel and hydraulic oil soaking my cloths. I'm slated to be there tomorrow morning, we'll see what happens..

Well, in case anyone was wondering, it went pretty much as I expected. Got the machine running is pretty short order, and offered to buy favorable price. Everyone involved is happy about the outcome.

Assuming all goes well, and all the other general caveats, I'll post a picture of my new rig in a week or two after arranging transport. No effin way am I driving that thing 13 miles down winding two lane roads. Maybe if it was more off season, and/or I was still young, overconfident and too cheap to hire someone with a heavy equipment trailer.

4 are commonwealths.

Being in MA I knew that about Va and MA but not PA and KY.


Then I saw a discussion of all the straight lines of the states, following latitudinal lines and the query: which US state is the only state without any straight lines?
