Uniquely odd, yet semi-traditional, Puddin’ Wine is a collaboration with our ‘brothers from another mother,’ Todd and Jason Alstöm of BeerAdvocate.

Looking to Jason’s legendary Christmas pudding recipe as inspiration, this English-style Barleywine delivers an infusion of flavors through the addition of sultanas, cherries, black currants, plums, dark brown sugar and hazelnuts.

Brewed with a blend of Maris Otter, Pils and dark crystal malts alongside a bit of toasted wheat, Puddin’ Wine is then rounded out by aging on Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port barrels for a full 6 months. The result is a full-bodied beer brimming with notes of dark pit fruit, smooth caramel and toffee.

cool.

Can't wait til they start banning anyone who rates it below a 5/5.

Bros Score will be the first 6/5.

I'm conflicted.

On one hand Dogfish Head and Barleywine

On the other hand Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Yeah I don't want to want to try this beer or like it because of the associations, but it actually sounds like it could be pretty good. I kept waiting for the stupid Dogfish Head ingredient reveal, but it never came. I was sure that at some point my interest would be killed by "conditioned in whole fruitcakes" or some other such nonsense.

I had to write a description of this beer for work that will populate to our mobile app:

"Don't worry. You can enjoy this BeerAdvocate collab without catching the BanHammer or getting your car towed in a hurricane."

Too much? Too little?

Port barrels. I can't say no.

Man... I really hate the Houston beer scene sometimes. Also Tekus are all the rage right now in local beer groups, didnt that phase go away like 2 years ago across the country?

The beer scene here has me shaking my head a lot. All of the pictures of people storing their "hazy IPA" cans upside down? Ridiculous lines down the street for Brash releases?

Most of the local groups are just people swinging dick anyways. I rarely even check them anymore

we must be in different Houston groups

edit: read the article, wish I would have continued to have never heard of this guy

The big deal so many beer drinkers make over the appearance aspect of hazy IPAs, which is well exemplified by articles like this one, is one of the most obvious signs as to the utter cluelessness most of these people have with regards to the brewing process. I'd love to subject idiots like this to blind taste test conditions, with blindfolds or opaque glassware.

cool.
Didn't the bros just rip on barleywines like a week ago?

Any Pennsylvania folks know anything about the drama surrounding Sole Brewing? Seems to be blowing up all over Facebook today with accusations of people feeling ripped off for the $500 membership, the owner being an arrogant ******* who deletes bad reviews/bans people from their social media/ignores legitimate phone and email inquiries from members, and generally feels like the Wakefield OGs Society part 2, only playing out in warp speed.
looking at their FB page, seems they're really "edgy" and "hip". Who else could be so clever as to name a beer Starfucker?

Here's someone's response to someone in their membership club complaining:

"Maybe it's time to have a kid, or invest in something that makes a failed beer club membership seem trivial"

Well then.
Takes "it's just beer" to a whole new, creepy level. What a dick.

I deleted the post because of personal info that I realized right afterwards probably didn't need to be posted in here, even though it's obviously circulating elsewhere. Maybe edit the sceenshot out of your post? But yeah:

"Maybe it's time to have a kid, or invest in something that makes a failed beer club membership seem trivial"

really does take it to a whole new, creepy level.

Jesus ******* Christ could another brewery PLEASE, for the love of ******* god, post another employee with a Jason mask on. We get it, for ***** ******* sake.

Edit: well we now know exactly how long it takes for me to get pissy when I'm off my meds, 2.
