The jump took me to a page with an article written by someone who coins themselves as "Broke-Ass Stuart," who has a supremely punchable face, and refers to himself as a "************* Hustler" while wearing a signature 'The Lumineers' fedora. Meanwhile, the background ad was for BLL Lime-a-Rita

******* surreal. Who reads this ****?

WTF please stop. Words have meaning! How do you differentiate when talking to somebody about how you are online with us turds early every day?! Or is this really just a written trend worse than brewery collabs?:D

You're worse than brewery collabs.

And I think it's definitely a NYC-area colloquialism. Whatever.

I think the word colloquialism is an oxymoron ... and yes, I had to look that up (although I've always wanted to use it in a conversation). Regretfully it was the first time in months that I learned a new word to use, so cheers to you!

So there is a line that big for every one of their releases?

col·lo·qui·al·ism
kəˈlōkwēəˌlizəm/
noun
  1. a word or phrase that is not formal or literary, typically one used in ordinary or familiar conversation.
    • the use of ordinary or familiar words or phrases.

Man... I really hate the Houston beer scene sometimes. Also Tekus are all the rage right now in local beer groups, didnt that phase go away like 2 years ago across the country?

http://beerchronicle.com/hey-where-did-my-haze-go-can-i-get-it-back/

The beer scene here has me shaking my head a lot. All of the pictures of people storing their "hazy IPA" cans upside down? Ridiculous lines down the street for Brash releases?

Most of the local groups are just people swinging dick anyways. I rarely even check them anymore

We're pretty far behind the national beer scene. Even Austin, which had a good head start on the rest of the state, is lagging the hazy IPA and pastry stout craze. Houston has been trying to force the hazy IPA ever since people started insisting Yellow Rose was a hazy IPA.

Any Pennsylvania folks know anything about the drama surrounding Sole Brewing? Seems to be blowing up all over Facebook today with accusations of people feeling ripped off for the $500 membership, the owner being an arrogant ******* who deletes bad reviews/bans people from their social media/ignores legitimate phone and email inquiries from members, and generally feels like the Wakefield OGs Society part 2, only playing out in warp speed.

My only exposure to local PA chatter is from what is written by the folks on beeradvocate and there isn't a peep.

EDIT: Although I see what you mean about their comments on their Facebook page.

https://www.dogfish.com/brewery/beer/puddin-wine

Uniquely odd, yet semi-traditional, Puddin’ Wine is a collaboration with our ‘brothers from another mother,’ Todd and Jason Alstöm of BeerAdvocate.

Looking to Jason’s legendary Christmas pudding recipe as inspiration, this English-style Barleywine delivers an infusion of flavors through the addition of sultanas, cherries, black currants, plums, dark brown sugar and hazelnuts.

Brewed with a blend of Maris Otter, Pils and dark crystal malts alongside a bit of toasted wheat, Puddin’ Wine is then rounded out by aging on Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port barrels for a full 6 months. The result is a full-bodied beer brimming with notes of dark pit fruit, smooth caramel and toffee.

Only thing I know about Sole is that their beers are meh and neck beards used to line up before 7am on Sundays to buy their contract-brewed hazy cans. I guess they have their own space now? Gotta make the paper for that mortgage somehow. Why anyone would drop $500 on a membership for a brewery like that is beyond my understanding.
