There's a fest here where brewers are asked to brew something specifically for the event. Obviously the result is all sorts of garbage (180 brewers invited). This year they included cider makers which, for the most part, were amazing and far less garbage.

The amount of people I saw and heard (including peeps in the industry) snickering and implying cider was a bit gay or girly was annoying. Especially when the top three people's choice beers were a Maple Syrup Imp Stout, a Vanilla Milkshake IPA, and a juicy IPA.

The best cider I had was barrel aged, dry hopped and dosed with lambic culture. But sure, a sickly sweet milkshake beer is way tougher than that.

Ciders and meads are basically all i look for at bottle shops during my business trips nowadays because honestly, the chance of a hit is far higher than with whatever triple dry hopped seaweed ipa or double truffle maple lard imperial stout the neckbeard bottle shop cicerone is trying to sell me.

Give me that six pack of rye barrel cider every single time

Reminds me of when I see comments that a regular IPA is "too bitter" for them and the only IPAs they drink are juice boxes.

I don't like overly bitter IPA's.
I love old school Blind Pig, Alpine, etc.
Yes, there is a difference.
No, I don't feel like explaining it to people who only like fruit juice.

That's the boat I'm in. Blind Pig, (real) Alpine, Pliny...West Coast IPAs that have the perfect amount of bitterness to keep you coming back for more. But not - say - Moylan's Hopsickle level of bitterness where you are chewing on an Aspirin.

I've had some New England IPAs that are fantastic, but they are few and far between for me. And even the good ones just come off as too sweet to me to want very many. Whereas I could drink Blind Pig all day.

Diff'rent Strokes.

$100K+ in fakes. I can't wait to see where this goes...

People absolutely shouldn't destroy his property or harm his family, but the ****** deserves to go to jail. And as to his business, that is totally within bounds, as I imagine the type of person who commits this frequent and severe fraud is probably abusing the customers of his legitimate enterprise(s) too. His current and potential future customers have every right to know what kind of scumbag they're dealing with.

All of these bottles were bought/sold via FB groups which is not exactly legal to begin with. I imagine once this reaches the authorities (whoever that would be) it will be picked up by the media and potentially lead to the end of most of them.

All of this he owned up to it, we'll make sure he pays, etc. is probably just an attempt to sweep it under the rug and keep the group intact ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know right... If my meth dealer sells me fraudulent high end crystal meth, it's not like I can go to the police.

According to the ATF it's fine. Or at least I can't see why it wouldn't be based on my exchanges with them about various resale websites. I guess they consider it taxed on first sale, and anything after that is just collectibles.

But still, if it's 100k+ in fraudulent bottles, yeah, someone needs to tell the police/FBI. Maybe they care, maybe they don't, but that's a serious crime.

Also, did he do this with beer or just bourbon?

Ya just bourbon stupac2
It appears to just be bourbon. I can't believe how it got over $100k. It's pure insanity. Suckers with money something something.
$1000 or more per bottle + a few sales per week adds up very quickly.

So, whatever happened to that rebrew of SHBRL that was coming out "next year" for the last four years?

Inb4: next year.
I have second hand left hand no look word of mouth evidence that this exists at both Two Roads and Southampton. Stay tuned forever and when the 200 bottles are released you will get nothing.
