Maybe because PnB is by far their best beer.

Upright, I will take all of, so long as it's seen Brett. Will crush anniversary saison all day long.

Seizoen Bretta and Oak Aged Bretta are crushably lovely beers. Come at me bro.

375s of Seizoen Bretta is a beauriful thing.

Yeah I just remember around the time TB started it was on everyone's list either ISO or FT.

Kuhnhenn BA beers are still somewhat hard to get. **** Surly used to have hype, and those days are long gone, doesn't mean Darkness or BA Darkness are all that easy to get.

You can drink Darkness at the MSP airport every Fall. Flying through there on the way to Omaha is nice.

For Surly and Kuhnhenn, I think losing a key player and thus quality suffering is more than a small part of the problem.
Even some of the most devoted locals on here aren't drinking Surly anymore.

but Todd just left

has the quality gone down that quickly?

Last can of Todd I had was terrible. Distroed here for GABF.

Also talking about folks like yamar68 and Minnesotaryan who aren't easily influenced and have smart opinions.
Todd the Axeman? We just got that down here. I had one the other day, it's pretty good.

We actually had this conversation while drinking a bottle of last year's PnB, which was still absolutely fantastic.

There's still interest in PnB up here, but that's it. Kinda the same deal with Upright, people slightly get hyped for Fantasia, but everything else is just under the radar. I mean, I love these breweries and I shouldn't be complaining but damn people get caught up in new shiny.

Edit: And Kuhnhenn. I remember a few years ago there was tons of hype over that brewery and now not a peep.
Good. Let Upright continue to fly under the radar.

I think the beer is just as good, Todd continues to be the staple IPA and Darkness is still great. Taproom still have all kinds of fun experiments. But yeah they do annoying things like send half the Darkness to Chicago and release weird anniversary beers. And we have our new hype machines grabbing everyone's attention.

**** off with this ****.

Seriously. **** right off.

After visiting Cantillon last fall and paying 20 euro or whatever for d'aunis on site, I think some these breweries should ask themselves WWJ(vr)D?

Oh man, what would people say if JVR started charging "market prices" for seasonal and one-off Loons? At 80-100 Euro a pop those Brussels trips and Fou Foune haul pics would dry up real quick.

seeing deGarde start to take bullets here is really weird

almost as strange as the griping about beers people haven't had yet.. just because they're new and popular
I think it's more about joking on gimmicks hyped on social media by carnival barkers.

I paid 60 euro at Moeder only to find it for a third of the price an hour later at the brewery .
