I'll get a flight at a new brewery for sure, but there are some etiquette things I think far too many beer folks either A) are oblivious about or B) are jagoffs and don't give a **** about.

Example, going to a new brewery early on a Saturday to grabbing a flight to decide what I like / don't like / might want a full size pour of is a totally normal thing to do.

Going to a brewery and asking for samples of beers that you are going to get in a 5oz or smaller glass in a flight is ******* asinine and makes you look like a ********. Same for ordering a flight at 10pm on a busy Friday where the bar is 2 deep. Or walking up with a group of 3+ people and everyone in the group orders their own custom flights.

These are also usually the folks who milk a flight for an hour and then decide to give a $1 tip before bouncing too.

Recently I was sitting at a bar, as I am wont to do, and this woman was standing behind me awaiting the bartender's attention for a drink. I noticed only because a taller man, who seemed to know her, came up next to her and said, loudly, (I was reading a book, also as I am wont to do, and it grabbed my attention) "I bet I'll get a second drink before you get your first!" and then laughed boisterously. She chuckled, but sure enough, the bartender came and asked him what he wanted. Rather than saying something like, "oh please help my friend here first" or something equally chivalrous, he ordered a beer. He got his beer, which was $8, and paid with a ten-dollar bill. Upon receiving his change, he walked away, no tip. The bartender then turns to the woman and asks her what she wants, she orders something similar, pays, and, again, leaves no tip.

I was flabbergasted by the entire exchange. It's probably been about two months and it still feels fresh in my mind. What the hell is wrong with some people?

I had a dream last night that my wife got into trading and someone posted a haul picture of what she sent and it was a bunch of my lambic and mead and BA stouts, and I had no idea what she got in return but I know she hates lambic and BA stouts so it couldn't be more of those.

It was the most frightening dream I've had in years.

A rage-filled, alcohol-loving Pennsylvania man beat his roommate to death during a heated argument about beer — and then took photos of the dead body, police said.

Justin Vankirk was arrested Tuesday for fatally pummeling his roommate, Charles Parker, with punches and kicks at their Brentwood home, according to KDKA.

Vankirk called police himself to report his roommate had died and later gave "various accounts" and timelines of the fatal beating to investigators. It was not immediately clear how long Parker had been dead when Vankirk alerted authorities, a criminal complaint showed.

While being interrogated by investigators, Vankirk admitted he had gotten into a confrontation with Parker after noticing that the roommate had stolen some beer he had bought.

Being flabbergasted by the tipping part is pretty ridiculous. You have no idea how much these people may or may not have tipped the bartender on their prior or next beers.

Pretty much. I know tipping is a touchy subject on the internet, people can do whatever they want. That's just how I roll.

Yep. Same in Japan. I don't tip if it's not part of the culture, but I used to work in the service industry when i was in school so it's just habit now when at home in the states.

I probably wouldn't have noticed the tipping if I hadn't noticed the guy being an *******. That said, I was at the bar long after they left and they didn't get more drinks after that. She never tipped, and he allegedly had a beer before from his conversation ("my second beer before you get one"), so who knows if he tipped well before that. I gotta doubt it though, since he was clearly a jerk.
