The thing is, they are good beers. But not great. Anybody going to this release could walk to a decently stocked bottle shop and find as good or better IPAs on the shelf. FOMO is a bitch, I guess.

Right, these are not like Treehouse/Trillium caliber IPAs or anything. The Manor Hill ones are probably better. But cans and lines.

I had Hop Hands the other night on draft at Threes in Brooklyn and I was really unimpressed. Bad batch maybe? I've heard great things about it and would like to revisit but I was disappointed with my first experience with it.

It's fairly unimpressive.

I'm not the biggest Tired Hands fan, but SaisonHands is fantastic.

I think most Tired Hands beers are awesome, but I can definitely see how anyone who hadn't had them on-premise (or at least on draft somewhere nearby) would come away unimpressed. Why their beers don't hold up well in growlers I don't know (especially since their 64oz screwtops are just the standard type), but I've had so many go flat in short order.

I will say that with the exception of Saisonhands and Shambolic, I would rate almost all of their bottlings to date as well below their draft offerings. I think those two beers are really special. The cans I've tried so far have been hit or miss, and it mostly seems to be a carbonation issue.

Bottles I've only had Ourison and some of the Parageusias, all of which I enjoyed albeit the Paras were pretty flat.

OH canned Oat Overdose and they also made a great Oat Overdose teku, which is part of my teku collection. It's pretty.

That's what I figured because the can design definitely had an aesthetic that was way more similar to Other Half than what Tired Hands have been going for on their cans.

Oat Overdose was a ******* awesome beer too.

The first time I had Such Passion, it was the only beer I wanted to drink for the rest of my ******* life. It was just so god damn good. Subsequent batches have not lived up to that one, and fruited IPAs are now an overdone and (generally) ****** out trend, but Tired Hands still makes a lot of really really good beer.

I rarely seek their stuff out, but I'm happy to drive down to Ardmore 2 or 3 times a year and have some food and a few tasters. It's always worth it to me.

Went to Julio's (the DeCicco's of Mass) at lunchtime to take a peek around. Saw some coworkers from the QA dept there, one of whom jokes this is how we get through the day. I laugh and look around at the various new things like Captain Lawrence Barrel Select sours, Deciduous, etc. - which I've never seen before.

Then I noticed there was Cuvee Renee Kriek on the shelf and Trillium in the fridge.

TH is definitely one of those polarizing breweries. Most people usually love them or hate them. I've got a great TH guy so I get to try pretty much everything. I'm firmly in the love them camp.

The pricing on yellow rose is so annoying. 750s at like $9.50, to drink at home. After leaving a bar drinking $5 pints. Pricey for a SMaSH IPA imo.

5g kegs are like a hundo. So less than half per oz bottle cost. And yet I sit here with an empty shell in my kegerator wondering why I keep buying bottles.

that's honestly not that terrible....i never had yellow rose so i can't say if the price does it justice but i heard its quite good. for example; trillium prices range from $8-$13 depending on the beer. and i think thats more than fair for the stuff they're pumping out

Yeah. I'm just being irritable. It's still a pretty new thing here where it's like "oh the tap menu kinda sucks, guess I'll just get this world class ipa that's on literally everywhere. Ho-hum."

People lining up for IPA...so weird to me, we have nothing like that here. Closest comparable thing would be Toppling Goliath but there's never a line, just a long drive if you need to get it from the source. I suppose that helps keep the line situation in check, but people drive long distances to places like Other Half and then line up.

It's always silent or a BPT type thing. But I know people line up for big relases, but IPA? Come on, anyone can get some solid IPAs in their area these days. I get driving someplace to stock up but camping out on the streets of NYC for a couple four packs, I dunno.
