People lining up for IPA...so weird to me, we have nothing like that here. Closest comparable thing would be Toppling Goliath but there's never a line, just a long drive if you need to get it from the source. I suppose that helps keep the line situation in check, but people drive long distances to places like Other Half and then line up.
Completely agree with you.

That said, if Alpine ever decided to release OG Nelson bottles, I would go full Mule Team Six on that ****.

me on the toilet right now

Yeah, basically everything you see in the new embossed bottles is Green Flash brewed and bottled.

Alpine apparently is going to bottle their own beers once a month though; last one was Bad Boy, and there's a run of High Kicks coming up too.
If Alpine was canning High Kicks hype would be through the roof. In 22oz bottles they'll probably sit for at least a week. Weird world we live in.

Can you remind me whether Alpine issued the typical "This is just a financing arrangement. We will maintain complete operational independence and nothing about the beers you know and love will change" when the Green Flash deal happened? I find that language hilarious (especially when it was used by Alpine - what savvy investor in its right mind would throw a bunch of cash at Alpine and let Pat maintain complete operational independence?) and it seems to just be recycled verbatim by each acquired brewery.

But for all intents and purposes, nothing has changed according to Alpine.

And Alpine was the one where the change was really obvious. Most other breweries that get acquired don't seem to change all that much. Honestly I sometimes forget which ones even have been. But with Alpine, I remember every single time I see those dusty sixers of Duet.

You might have to burn the brewery down after using several kilos of Durian in a beer.

Haha depends if you like durian or not. It's a hit or miss kinda thing. I've had friends who've hated it for years and then there's this light bulb moment and they love it. Same thing happened to me as well.

I always hope whoever writes the Tree House IPA descriptions will one day sneak in a "We gets notes of durian" to troll their fans, especially since I think they've already mentioned every other fruit known to man.

They should definitely add that in a descriptor and just fan the flames.

Are there people who like the smell though? Can't imagine.

I didn't realize anyone in the entire world actually liked durian.

I seriously don't have a clue what a proxy is.

prox·y
ˈpräksē/
noun
  1. 1.
the authority to represent someone else, especially in voting.

in beer terms, someone who can go to a release and buy beer for you because you can't be there. that person would then mail to you or hold for a later date when you can meet.
