I traded a single can of Treehouse IPA for a bottle of Black Tuesday locally this past weekend.

If that isn't the state of beer right now, I don't know what is.

CHUMPS.

This is the first time I've seen someone brag about losing a trade.

(Disclaimer I do not like Bruery Stouts)

Marshmallow IPA
Strawberry cheesecake IPA

Edit: I just noticed that there's potatoes in the stout. What the hell is this.

Vape companies are getting banned because they are making mango flavors that "market to children". The beer industry is dumping in children cereal and designing the label to look exactly the same. FDA and ATF PLEASE lay the hammer down. Maybe we should all mass report????

You laugh, but I bet it becomes an issue at some point.

What an easy story for someone to just run with.

Some kid will eventually chug one of these for real because he think's it's liquid candy and not beer. Watch.

I suspect regulators are far more watchful of smoking-related industries advertising to kids because that was a huge problem with cigarette manufacturers in the past (e.g. Camel) and how tobacco companies intentionally marketed to kids. But you can more or less say the same thing about pre-ban 4loko and the reason it was banned.

Also, TTB may not have authority to regulate advertising if the beer does not make it into interstate commerce so the state regulators may be a better destination for your rage.

He has a long and sordid history in San Diego. We’ve all known for years to avoid it. Apparently he also sent some questionable emails in his newsletters but I never subscribed so I don’t have access to those.

If you’re curious about the emails I alluded to here, Beth has some choice quotes in her article:

Racism, homophobia, misogyny, can we get a little ableism and ageism to cap it all off? What a tool. Reckless indeed.

C'mon man, can't you take a joke? Just relax and have a beer.

Pretty amazing how a group of people just think they can basically say and do whatever they want because they've always been able to in the past, and then can't handle it when there are now consequences. Sure we have free speech, but people are allowed to boycott you and throw a fit.

I made a post that I wish I never had. Because of my lack of awareness and difficulty in understanding the way that people feel about things I truly did not expect it to harm or offend anyone but it did in a big way. I can only apologize and admit that I made a terrible mistake but I never intended to hurt anyone's feelings or offend them. The uproar on facebook has been catastrophic. I have no idea how severely this will impact Reckless Brewing but I fear the worst. This is the worst day of my life.

That seems like a pretty honest heartfelt response from a dude who thinks that stopping and thinking about the feelings of someone that isn't like him is stupid and has never likely had to deal with being discriminated against or marginalized. Ever.

Hopefully he learns from his stupidity and tries to be a better person. Curious if his business will take a hit or if certain other people will come out to support him from now on.

I’ve always thought of that (or maybe heard it referred to) as “hop burn” - I ticked a mango milkshake NEIPA here in town, and the last 1/4 can was undrinkable from exactly what you describe.

“You gotta roll it before opening, bro.”

Didn’t roll this one...I like most HB beers but this one, the last few sips were burning fire.

I don’t normally drink on the train but it’s effing 7:30 and I’m in a suit, so...

When that hard root beer **** was out a few years or so ago my ex wife bought a 6 pack and my kid opened one and had a sip because he thought it was root beer. He said it was disgusting.

At least he has a good palate.

Unsurprisingly (and unfortunately), the comments are lit.

That powermauer2 jagoff needs a good "go **** your mother."

William L Mauer from California apparently. Sounds like an awesome dude to try to fight with one of Modern Times' brewers who knows her ****.
