The more you know.

Reckless announce they're closing today. Coincidence?

I'd guess it's not a coincidence but maybe it helped make the decision easier. You don't just close a business 3 days after getting bad publicity. If they were making money it would be fine, he did say he was sorry and seemed to mean it. I'm guessing someone backed out as an investor (before the post) or they were spending more than they were making.

They are not doing themselves the favor they think they are with that statement. I don't know enough about the facts behind the situation to have a formed opinion about the merits of the case but if I represented the plaintiff I could have a lot of fun with that statement.
Here is the original story:

It picked up more steam a few weeks ago after this:

I won’t go too far into how much I agreed or disagreed with the author other than to say that being in a Detroit-centric bubble, it got more traction in my circles than the author’s, and I know a lot of people not buying their product right now, but it took them 5 months to make a public statement, not 5 days.

I'm familiar with the allegations and now at least some of Founders's defenses but that isn't enough to draw many conclusions. Workplace discrimination claims require a deep exploration of the facts that go far beyond the allegations of the complaint and a PR statement from the company.

Founders is dumb to make any public comment about the situation beyond denying the allegations. It exposes them to additional potential claims and quite frankly it is not helpful to the former employee who might suffer problems with finding work or his current job due to the exposure.

It’s absurd there are shitlords who don’t know that berliners were never fruited before, like, 2010.

Good on them for making a Berliner without dry hopping, lactose, strawberry puree, and graham crackers.

The 2 of you get a high five/golden star today. Unadulterated berliners still tickle my jiblets.

DFH did fruit them circa 06/07 with festina peche but to be fair, they never called it berliner but tried to make it its own new thing ala “neo berliner.” As far as my experience is concerned that was the first one that I was aware of with fruit already applied and sweetness fermented out. Not sure if the german brewery Berliner Kindl ever brewed them with the intent of the sweetness to be fermented out. I think their bottles with syrup were packaged in such a way that they were pasteurized and back sweetened with their different syrup flavors to mimic what the experience would be like if you ordered it at the bar and had syrup added to cut the tartness.

Florida though.... thats a state/community of people ill never forgive for adding fruit and battery acid and then trying to claim it as their own style.

I still don't think Florida really likes beer, by and large.
