The 2 of you get a high five/golden star today. Unadulterated berliners still tickle my jiblets.

DFH did fruit them circa 06/07 with festina peche but to be fair, they never called it berliner but tried to make it its own new thing ala “neo berliner.” As far as my experience is concerned that was the first one that I was aware of with fruit already applied and sweetness fermented out. Not sure if the german brewery Berliner Kindl ever brewed them with the intent of the sweetness to be fermented out. I think their bottles with syrup were packaged in such a way that they were pasteurized and back sweetened with their different syrup flavors to mimic what the experience would be like if you ordered it at the bar and had syrup added to cut the tartness.

Florida though.... thats a state/community of people ill never forgive for adding fruit and battery acid and then trying to claim it as their own style.
And then fruited Berliners just got mashed in with other fruited "sours." The base beer stopped mattering.

RIP regular Berliners

They're being sold at room temp in a brightly-lit supermarket, I don't know if they'll be ok.

I'm guessing you don't have access to a lot of American beer (you're in Central America, right?), so I'd probably pull the trigger if I were in your situation.

My brother-in-law lives in Rabat, Morocco and his best options are his home-brew and whatever the American embassy store carries at whatever prices they're asking. He just buys it cause it's that or a bunch of adjunct lagers at the few stores that actually sell alcohol.

I did buy a few, I enjoy the Porter and Steam a lot. Have the lager in the fridge for later. I like them but it's definitely a tough sell, especially when I can get local beers that I enjoy more (and are way fresher) for half the price.

Times sure have changed.

Used to be stupid hard to find. ******* truck chasers. My local store one time posted on FB that they got it, I saw it within 10 minutes, walked half a mile to the store and when I got there it was already gone. Same deal with the old batches of Imperial Stout Trooper.

I still enjoy it though, had one last year and it was tasty.

This was basically my experience trying to get Brew 3000 in Seattle this year. Kept an eye on local spots on Instagram, got down there within an hour, all gone.
