Evil Twin / Westbrook Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Mexican Biscotti Toasted Coconut Cake Break

Damn that is a long name.

Evil Twin / Westbrook Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Mexican Biscotti Toasted Coconut Cake Break...$34.99 for a 22 oz bottle and it sold out in half a day. How and why does this happen?

That's about $2.50 per word in the beer name! Sounds like a steal!

He did initially but then let Roaring Fork take over once he knew they wouldn't screw it up. At least I'm pretty sure that's how it went down. I could be wrong though

Not sure how it went down, but they did contract brew with Crooked Stave for a bit as well (but that drive + hauling wort sounds like a nightmare). Now they have their own system to get real weird with. Can't wait to see what Troy and Eric come up with.

Ouch, this bottle was $25 at the brewery and every store I saw in SC. Even my local one which marks up regular-ass Mexican Cake from $12 to $20.

What adjuncts are added to that one?

Only like 4 rather than 40.

I actually bought one of these ET/WB MBBAIMBTCCB bottles since it was on the shelf while I was grabbing a cigar, and it was actually pretty good if you like spicy sweet stouts. The adjunct overload basically all just blends together into a generic but pleasant sweetness, and there's a ton of heat on the backend from the peppers. Given all the ******** surrounding a lot of BA pastry stouts, can't really complain about a good shelfie.

Speaking of Hanson and conrract brewing.
Apparently the link didn’t bring over the caption from MSNbc business. Here it is:

You know the chorus to "MMMBop" the moment it graces your ears. 20+ years later Hanson is stronger than ever and are full-blown entrepreneurs. Learn about their venture into the world of craft beer this Sunday at 7:30a EST on MSNBC!

Adam at Floodland brews on Seapine’s setup in South Seattle then hauls the wort up to the Floodland space in North Seattle where everything ages over time. It’s just cost effective for him with such a small operation.

Troy Casey did that too. The difference is that they both brewed the beer and have the talent. They just didn't have the space to have their own systems.

I know a few places that do that. The rare barrel has wort delivered to them and then they add it to barrels and blend. Doesn't Tilquin do that too?

A lot of lambic producers do, including De Cam and 3F (other than A+G and a few other special blends).
Isn't Drie Fonteinen working towards brewing all their own wort though? I thought they partially stopped doing it in like 2009 because they had that disaster where their temperature control failed and they couldn't afford doing it anymore. I could be wrong though.

They do want to, and volumes of A&G are way up. I doubt they’ll ever stop altogether — a lot of their whales, like Blauw, were made with other people’s wort.

I don't feel like they can't brew big beers like that again with their own wort though. It just so happens Blauw was made when they were getting wort from others. It isn't intrinsic to that beer.

I thought Tilquin buys wort from other Lambic brewers and then blends it. Floodland makes their own wort then drives it across town.

Me and at least one other TBer (not sure if my other two friends are on here...if so they're lurkers who you probably know) met the middle Hanson at Shelton Fest 2014. We wanted to **** with him a bit, but he was really cool and super excited about beer.

I can't get the image to post, but here's proof (he's in the middle). I'm not sure how google photos works, so the link may be broken.

Abe and Dunt look so faded in this picture.

I love it.

Welp, looks like you're now trickytunadicky's favorite member.

True story-the only place in Florida that gets Hanson's beer is EPCOT Center. I believe they only have it during Food & Wine Fest though.

Okay, I recognize that casks/firkins/randalls/etc are something for experimenting, having a little fun, and sometimes even being crazy and/or stupid, but this is just ridiculous:

And no, that is definitely *not* a "#dreambeer".

It was my birthday and I was at a Funk Factory release at Oso when this pic was taken and sent to me. I keep it favorited in my phone and send it to Abe and Dunt sometimes as a joke. In all seriousness their beer is okay, they have put a lot of work into their beer and music festival and improving the Oklahoma craft beer scene in general, so I appreciate that for them it is more than slapping their name on a label to make some side cash even if they don’t necessarily have the time to spend to learn to brew.

Taro bubble tea with black tapioca is the GOAT.

Would smash.
