Remembering back to that one time senpai noticed me at GABF.

Love this guy for all his contributions to homebrewing. Haven’t been a fan of the last few years and casually moving the line as far as the definition of “craft” year after year to suit anything but InBev.

Either way, this guy is a big reason *waves virtual arms around* this place exists as well as your neighborhood brewery.

There's a very small percentage of vendors past security that sell anything at "retail".
Everything from candy to stupid keepsakes and everything in between gets an instant and significant convenience price once you get through security.

Most items are not double the normal retail price airside. Additional, many (if not most) of those items can be purchased landside and brought through security. So to some degree a convenience fee might be warranted.

Excessive mark-ups on things you can't bring through security is dick-ish, at best. Clearly you don't need to buy beer to take home, but that doesn't justify the behavior.

Or hell, even the candy, which you can bring through.

Or earbuds, or sitdown food, or really anything...
God forbid you forget your earbuds.

“HERES SOME DOLLAR STORE EARBUDS FOR $20 GOOD LUCK HEARING ANYTHING”

or “WELCOME TO THE BEST BUY KIOSK. WANT SOME $250 HEADPHONES?”

I always give in for the $4 Coke Zero because I find the 6oz sippy cup on the plane maddening. Warm coke into cold ice is my trigger.

I finally bought a 1oz bottle of bitters (all the bitters I had in the house was 6 oz - too big to carry on). I can now improve my airplane cocktail experience. I have completely lost my ****.

TRY THIS SIMPLE TRICK THAT ALCOHOLICS HAVE BEEN USING FOR YEARS THAT’S DRIVING THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY CRAZY!

Pfft...

Put a couple travel bottles of whiskey or vodka in your liquids bag...

Buy a coke past security...

Take a couple swigs...

Pour the booze in the coke bottle (do a bathroom pour if you're paranoid)...

Walk onto the plane and chug away....

... you guys CALL YOURSELF ALCOHOLICS?!

Let's hope it's because they are finally barrel aging the entire run this year instead of releasing some other goofy Backstage beer no one wants.

I hope so. But I think it’s more likely that it’s shelved so they can produce a cherry malt liquor aged in Tabasco and sherry barrels.

Insaw that FIS was not on the list this year, but then I think I saw it went into barrels. Considering the bar currently is don’t suck as bad as Black Note they should be fine.

Damn did this year's batch of Black Note suck.

turrible. just turrible.
Ok, thank you! Texas got Bells for the first time and I bought a few Black Note very excited and I had one and tried to give away the rest. Did not understand why people said it was so good.
