Agreed.Sixpoint beers are some of the worst beers I've ever had that were supposed to be "good".

Now a lot of their beers will taste like an onion though so now sure what's better.Agreed.
I got a weird reply on an /r/beer thread about ticketed releases (where I said that breweries have been using Eventbrite and similar for releases for years) from the sixpoint account saying:...Curious as to what a "first-of-its-kind sales channel" will be.
So apparently they have something planned that think is a really big deal. From the description there I doubt it, but we'll see.Yes, they have. What doesn't exist is a fully integrated and native digital experience, which focuses on the beer customer and actually places value on the speed, automation, and throughput of the transactional elements of buying and procuring the beer.
The critical insight here is that people actually love the act of anticipation (whether for beer, for good food, or really anything that requires you to "earn" something by waiting) but people actually prefer not to wait in long lines. If those countless hours spent waiting in long lines could be repurposed to better uses, those customers would be way better off, and they would still get their awesome beer, and they still would even be able to "anticipate" the release and procurement of the beer without actually having to physically commit to standing in a long line.
Don't worry, all of this will become abundantly clear soon. In other words, we're about to drop some ISH. Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.
I liked it quite a bit.Has anyone tried the founders malt liquor yet?
Whoever wrote that reply should be shot into the sun.
“I’m incredibly excited to join Shane and the Sixpoint team as we continue to pour our collective passion for brewing into innovative beers and experiences,” said Bachli, while drinking his go-to Resin.
“I am completely honored and humbled to be serving alongside Horace and Eric,” remarked [Sixpoint founder] Welch, while slugging down a Crisp.
Of course they come up with this ish because nobody would ever wait in a line for their product anyways.I got a weird reply on an /r/beer thread about ticketed releases (where I said that breweries have been using Eventbrite and similar for releases for years) from the sixpoint account saying:

Oh, and people who say "ish" instead of "****" should be shot into the sun.
I went to Sixpoint in 2009, at the time i thought it was some of the best beer ever since i didn't have anything quite like it back then. Their popularity will continue to grow based on location alone, anyone who is new to beer and in the Brooklyn area will 100% go there. I tried to revisit some of their core lineup a few years after that.....and yeah it was pretty bad. I'm sure they still have some loyal customers but meh.Sixpoint beers are some of the worst beers I've ever had that were supposed to be "good".
You mean Dark Lord Day? That is the epitome of repurposed standing in line. So was Hunahpu Day til this year when they let you pick up bottles before the fest.I got a weird reply on an /r/beer thread about ticketed releases (where I said that breweries have been using Eventbrite and similar for releases for years) from the sixpoint account saying:

If you go to the link the original article was treating it like some kind of stroke of genius by their local "gonna break out any time now" haze-fest brewery in bumfuck Mass. I don't really care who started it, or if most of them are still shitshows (lol DDG) but at this point someone who thinks using an online ticket site for a beer release is novel is either an idiot or such a noob that they shouldn't be allowed to talk about beer. You mean Dark Lord Day? I was going to like this until I noticed the "ish". INTO THE SUN WITH YOU.Of course they come up with this ish because nobody would ever wait in a line for their product anyways.

I was assuming it was something that every brewery could use, otherwise no one would care. Maybe the sixpoint media guy doesn't realize that? I dunno.Use of the word "native" makes me think they're going to release an app through which you can purchase releases or some ****. Which seems expensive, but isn't an altogether terrible idea, I guess.
You've gotten more liberal with the likes, eh Stu?I was going to like this until I noticed the "ish". INTO THE SUN WITH YOU.

FTFY
Whoever was checking Untappd used to constantly get into it with friends who didn't give five caps. Nope.
The fresh Resin cans they sent tasted the exact same to me. Too malty for my liking.
I usually have it on draft, so maybe that makes a difference. But it's definitely maltier than most west coast offerings and I'd never even consider bothering with it if I lived out there and stuff like Boneyard, Reuben's, etc. was readily available. It's better out here than something like a Stone or Ballast Point double IPA that typically shows up less fresh (although maybe with Stone's new Richmond facility that's changed, I don't really know as I haven't drank any of those beers in months).
Sixpoint actually distributes to the Portland area now, I've always wondered how they fare with the local competition.

That is how "ish" is intended to be used and is perfectly acceptable. The minced oath use is the one that requires immolation. Is ish OK not as a substitute for **** (never heard that ***** before), but to note uncertainty/vagueness?
I think I missed 50ish pages in the Catalina thread in the past two days...
Asking for a friend.
I'm a fan of their coffee stouts. I'm not a fan of Resin but I enjoy Hi-Res occasionally. People here like them, probably because they do a lot of events.
A clickbait article made clickbait statements? And I didn't click on it?!? Big fan of Sixpoint's Sweet Action. Can't think of a better, more readily available cream ale...
Yeah, I think they reformulated some of their recipes without changing beer names in the last year or so.After positing this it occurred to me I haven't had a can in several months... a quick google search revealed that this was discontinued?! Sweet Action is now a blonde ale...
Might only be renamed for the market. Just like Ballast Point's "German Pale Ale" was renamed to "California Kolsch".After positing this it occurred to me I haven't had a can in several months... a quick google search revealed that this was discontinued?! Sweet Action is now a blonde ale...
