Whoever ran Sixpoint's Untappd account sent me a huge care package of four 4-packs (Bengal, Resin, Crisp and Global Warmer), a t-shirt and stickers just cause I had an out of date can of Resin and didn't like it. And I live in Washington, a state they don't distribute to.

Yup. I got a box from Shane of three 6-packs, a shirt and some stickers a couple years ago. Either from an outdated can I mentioned in my check in or because I emailed them (at their request) about all the stock in my town being outdated.

Really nice gesture and I always give them the benefit of the doubt/try/purchase ever since. Reminds me I haven't had one in a while.

I always liked Crisp and Global Warmer. Been a long minute since I had either though

Will gladly drink a Crisp if I'm at a concert or something like that. Usually the only decent option. Sixpoint actually did have some decent draft only stuff years ago. Gorilla Warfare, Gemini, Double Sweet Action, Triple Sweet Action...

Maybe it's just me but all of their beers I've ever had had the same disgusting as **** finish on them to me.

I saw a fresh 4 pack of the Crisp a month or so ago, and I decided to revisit Sixpoint for the first time in years. Their beer was bad for a while, but I new they revamped things.

I have to say, it was good. Turns out they finally realized that "creamed corn" wasn't a good flavor to have in your Pils.

As speculated...CBS this winter

http://tenemu.com/news/founders-rer...st-stout-part-2017-barrel-aged-series/08/2017

Turns out the rumors that have been swirling around for the last six months are true.

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Founders Brewing Co. will be rereleasing CBS—better known as Canadian Breakfast Stout—an imperial stout that is brewed with chocolate and a blend of coffees before being aged for over a year in spent bourbon barrels that were most recently aging maple syrup. The beer was first released in 22-ounce bottles in October of 2011, and wasrereleased as a draft-only option exclusively in one-quarter-bbl kegs that were distributed to the brewery’s entire 32 state network in 2014.

In addition, labels indicate that Founders will also be adding new incarnations of Bolt Cutter, Project Pam, Lizard of Koz and Sweet Repute to the Barrel-Aged Series as well, although those labels do not have a the 2017 date on them.

As with the rest of Founders’ Barrel-Aged Series, the newest incarnation of CBS will be packaged in 750ml bottles, although every release in the series so far as also been packaged in 12-ounce bottles as well.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.

That competition sample was the best and ruined my expectations of every maple beer thereafter.
I only had an old competition bottle the night before the first bottled CBS release and it was a shell of the beer I had on draft at Founders in 2010. The bottles were even worse than that. The kegged release a couple years ago was pretty damn good though.
