Isn't that every Mikkeller beer? ******* gypsy brewers.
Sort of, but I think he is involved in the actual blending of the other spontans, which is part of the problem.

Everyone also says that Boon Bone Dry was great, and Boon Black Label, both of which he helped with.

I get the sense he has good taste in beer, it's just his recipes that can be sad.

That whole "spontan" series... I couldn't believe it when I saw a ******* basil beer priced at 30 bucks. I'm just waiting for a Spontanoregano at this point.

Speaking of terrible beers, you open an Aunt Sally yet stupac2 ?
I did and it actually wasn't that bad. It wasn't good but I finished one of the two bottles you gave me and the other is still in the fridge instead of in the "what am I going to do with these ******* bottles?" pile I've been accumulating from relatives buying crappy beer and not drinking it.

Incidentally, I have not opened any of the good beer you gave me...

I'm really glad someone brought that basil to a share. There was no way I was spending $30 on it, and didn't need more than a 3oz pour. the spontanbeetroot and gooseberry were good to me.

I really enjoyed all the Spontan I've had. At the Mikkeller bar in Iceland they make a blend of cherry mead with Spontan dryhop and it's incredible.

So far I've had 17 of the spontan beers, and I have another 4 waiting to be consumed. The series is definitely wildly uneven in terms of quality. I think Spontanseabuckthorn was by far the best. Spontanbeetroot, Spontandoubleelderflower, Spontangooseberry, and Spontangreenapple were all solid. The others I've had were mediocre save for Spontanwatermelon (bad), Spontanpeach (the worst), and the dryhops (Centennial, Citra, and Simcoe).
