My entire thought when drinking a small pour was "WHY?". I mean, it wasn't awful but why the hell would you bother even making that beer when there are so many other options for a base that would work better in those barrels. Do they choose these combinations at random or something?
"Hey, we don't want to pigeonhole ourselves by ever repeating our first two wildly successful maple barrel beers."

just returned from trip to said store. No one has bought any of them yet. lol

Damn. I wish we had stacks like that sitting around. Most places here were line up hours before opening, 1 bottle allocation, sold out immediately. F that noise.

You wishing for more? I don't think I would have much difficulty lining you up some if you want them brotha. GPIUFYB

picked up a growler to send out last night. tried screwing the cap on tighter. thing didn't budge a centimeter. perfect. already as tight as it can get.

sealed it in bubble wrap, boxed it with other beers, set it on the kitchen counter last night to bring in for drop off today............. picked up the box, beer leak everywhere.

stupid ******* growler top was screwed on tight alright. slightly crookedly. beer is ******.

Did you unscrew it and put it back on? I always do that after i get a growler from anywhere as they might have ****** up when they initially filled and screwed the cap on.

BCBCS 2015 tastes like jalapeño poppers right now.
Maybe I’m just crazy, but other than fresh 2011 or 2012 BCBCS (I forget which), every year of that beer has always tasted like jalapeños to me, even when less than a few months old. But I’ve also mostly thought that about KBS too.

Loved all previous years fresh. Even when it was peppery it was still an amazing coffee stout. 2015 is so much green and jalapeño peppers. I'm sure it'll age well though.

Anyone with experience with crowlers been told the following?

"You have to keep it cold. If it warms up then the seal fails. It has to stay cold the whole time."

Backstory: got three crowlers from a local place. Ran some errands. Got home and 2 were leaking, 1 very badly. Took them back to get replacements and was told the above. I've seen people shipping them so this doesn't add up. They also had an attitude when replacing the 2 that leaked as if it was my fault and I was causing them problems...

Never. 3 or 4 places locally crowler, no issues shipping and no issues with them being unrefrigerated for 6-8 hours. Sounds like BS to me.

That's a big ol crock of ********. If that were the case, I suspect crowlers wouldn't have caught on in such a big way.
