Some quick math based on the numbers here:
http://www.streetinsider.com/Corpor...Ballast+Point+Brewing+&+Spirits/11076615.html

Acquisition price is $1 billion, which they say is a mid- to high-teens multiple of estimated 2016 EBITDA. Let's call it a multiple of 17. So that puts estimated 2016 EBITDA at about $59 million. The article says 2015 revenue is about $115 million, and grew in the most recent year at 100%. So maybe they're forecasting similar growth for 2016, which means $230 million of revenue, generating $58 million of EBITDA, for a ~25% EBITDA margin. That's some solid performance.

For comparison, Boston Beer's 2014 results are here:
http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/949870/000119312515060122/d851668d10k.htm#toc

$903 million in 2014 net revenue, growing at about 22% per year for the last couple of years, and EBITDA margin of about 20%. But revenue growth seems to have dropped this year, and looks like 2015 net revenue will be about $980 million (under 10% growth). Boston Beer equity is valued at about 2.6 billion, which would be a 13x multiple on estimated 2015 EBITDA. So Constellation seems to be paying a higher multiple for a more profitable company growing more quickly; story checks out.

Also seems consistent with this earlier story about Sierra Nevada:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...der-grossman-becomes-billionaire-on-pale-ales

Sierra Nevada sold 1 million barrels of beer in 2014 -- equal to 331 million 12-ounce bottles -- producing revenue of $250 million, according to the company. The brewer is valued at more than $1 billion based on the enterprise value-to-sales and enterprise value-to-earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of Boston Beer Co., the only large publicly traded craft beer maker.

Pretty stunning how much these companies are worth. With any luck, the #NEWMONEY acquiring companies will direct a lot more resources and let them ramp up production while keeping quality constant. I, for one, would love to see barrel-aged VaS in bottles nationwide.

Yeah, why not Javabola? Parajava? Coffee Parabola? y = x^2 with coffee?

Why not call it Parabola with Coffee?
This is a brewery with a lineup that consists of a "blonde barleywine," "Central Coast quad," and "brownywine." One of their beers is literally named after a dick wig. They're not exactly the best at names.
