Ranco dual stage issue

When I cold crashed my beer the temp controller caused the beer to freeze. When the beer was frozen the temp read 168. When I removed the temp probe the temp dropped to around 100. Does anyone know how to reset the controller?

Is the Ranco probe rated for immersion? I'm guessing it went to Probe Heaven and needs replacing...

I use the stainless thermowell for the carboy from more beer. The temp probe never touches the beer.
