Ok, I just want to make sure I didnt make a bottle bomb.

I stuck a racking cane in the end of my cobra tap, and the other end in the bottom of a 22 oz bottle. Flowed the beer in gently at 3 PSI, with minimal foaming. I allowed almost all of the foam out, topped it off with a couple shots of beer, and capped quickly. I noticed some bubbles coming up in the bottle when capped which I know is normal as the beer is carbd up already.

Question is, is it safe to transport to drink in under 6 hours? My kids will be in the car and am afraid the pressure will cause the bottles to burst!

Depends on the PSI (which depends on volume of c02 and temperature), and the strength of the bottle.

It is exactly as likely to burst as the same beer with the same carbonation in the same bottle where the carbonation was the result of bottle conditioning. So you are probably safe but if you put gueze at 4 volumes in those bottles and transport them at 90 F, maybe less safe.

It should be fine. I do that all the time! I don't always just use small (12 or 22 ounce) bottles- sometimes I fill a growler or two and cap tightly.

Awesome. I am at about 2.3 vols at about 42 degrees and the 5 PSI serve into the bottle was generous at best.

I will assume I should be good, at least its in the fridge right now and if it bursts, no one will get hurt.
