I'm planning on putting a sight tube on my mash/lauter tun, the opening being under the level of the false bottom. My idea is that I'll put a piece of tape at the level of the top of the grain-bed (after dough-in, once the bed settles while the water is recirculating) and I'll have an easier time of making sure my water level is above the grainbed during sparging. Anything I should be concerned about? Or am I on the right track and this is as good an idea as I expect it is?
