I have a King Kooker turkey fryer that I've been using for good results for my 5 gallon batches, but I can tell it won't be able to boil 10 gallon batches that I want to move up to. It came with a 5psi high-pressure regulator, and the box says its 38,000 BTU. Can I swap the 5psi out for a 10psi (bonus of getting rid of that stupid timer safety device) and make it into a 76,000 BTU burner? Will swapping to a higher psi regulator actually work, or just waste gas?

Go to a reputable propane supply. You could even go as high as 30psi with a guaged regulator and dial in whatever PSI you want.
