Hey everyone!

So I brewed an early style pilsner similar to Bushwick's, it's extremely clear. I'm just about to transfer it over to the bottling pot I have this evening and had a question...

This is the second time I brewed this recipe and while the last batch was delicious it took forever to carbonate and even then it wasn't very much.

Seeing that the beer is so clear does any one have any tips for priming sugar (quantity, etc)? I don't have a keg system....yet.

Thanks in advance!

And man, this beer is delicious. :) Hopefully I wont drink it all before I bottle it!

5 oz corn sugar per 5 gallons beer is a pretty standard recommendation. You might consider bumping that to 7 oz or so.

For the last few batches of bottle conditioned beer I made, I bought and used a child's medicine dropper (available at any drug store) and put about 1.0 teaspoon of bottling sugar+water mix into each 12oz bottle, rather than "bulk mixing" in a bottling bucket. I filled a few 22oz bombers and used 1.5 teaspoons of water in those and the carbonation was perfect. The dropper approach yields much more consistent carbonation from bottle to bottle. Put the sugar mix in first before filling.

8oz water + bottling sugar yields about 50 teaspoons of water, fwiw.
