apparently there have been test batches under a different name randomly hitting spots. if/when it makes an appearance, i've got you covered.

I had Beta 8.1 and Beta 8.2 a few weeks ago at the brewery in Astoria. Pretty good, but 3-Way 2014 is still king.

The king is dead. Long live the king.

How up to date is the list at Beer Mongers? That Father Nelson better hold on till Friday.

Also what is their growler policy? We're mostly growler nazi's in San Diego but we're working on it. Can I fill any blank/taped over growler there?

Do you have someway of sealing said beer container and taking it with you. If yes? you can fill it.

I've seen bars fill mason jars, Funky shaped growlers. Growlers with peoples names on it. Growlers with another breweries logo that was right up the street, swing tops, screw tops, cork tops, pressure tops, tank tops, halter tops, capris, 1 liter, 2 liter, 64 ounce...

If it fits, you sips.

Oh and also the Father Nelson will most likely be gone.

This post only gets a half like. :( We'll see! Worst case scenario we go to degardebrewing on Saturday and I totally forget about it.

ISO beer halter tops.

If anyone feels like getting a small growler fill of Father Nelson if it's still on I can bring you an empty 32oz tin bucket growler. Or some fresh Nelson (bottled Monday) or 1L fill of Pupil (kegged this week). If not no biggie. I'll still love you Portland.

Portlanders – looking to do a day hike near Mt Hood this Sunday, but on OregonHikers.org most of the trails say “Season: Late spring to fall” or “Season: Summer to fall”. So, dumb question: What exactly does that mean? Do the trails actually close down? Are they too treacherous until June or July?

We've had a very warm winter with an extremely small snowpack. The trails should be fine, but maybe call to be sure?

Awfully depressing to drive over Government Camp on the way to Bend in February and not even see a trace of snow.

I second the above post. All trails should be good to go. snowpack is really low due to warm winter. we are basically in early summer for hiking.

Thats an awesome site. Didn't realize it was a thing.

There's pluses and minuses to state controlled distribution. Plus: you can look up what stores have what. Minus: so can everyone else. As long as you're not looking for pappiez or what have you, it's generally a net win, though.

Yeah. box_social was kind enough to send me a link. It's a completely different beer this year though. I'll wait to hear a review before I seek any out.

I think it was OakedCanuck that shared my love for this beer so hopefully he can let me know.
Yeah, they collaborate with 2 different Brewers every year. pFriem is making some good stuff, so that's exciting, but I don't think there's any way they'll ever make a better 3 Way than last year's.

I didn't realize that. That beer was perfect too. Someone should rebrew it.

Mentioned this a while back, but I'll be at the Portland Hilton downtown 6/9 & 6/10 for a conference. Thinking about coming in the weekend before to do some exploring if anyone would want to meet for a beer.

How is the public transportation? Not everything I wanna hit up looks to be in close walking distance and I'd rather not cab/uber/lyft the entire time. Any suggestions for the easiest/cheapest way(s) of getting around town?

I've had 3-Way 2015 on tap a few times at Ft. George in the last month. It doesn't have Mosaic in it this year and they toned down the ABV. It's not as good as 2014, but still a very nice IPA.

Transit is pretty awesome. A Trimet day pass gets you on the train, street car and any bus all day long, for 5 bucks. They have trip planners on their website if you haven't checked it out yet. http://www.trimet.org/
