I haven't really tried, but how are the aluminum bottles better than cans? Seems like they wouldn't be as crushable, don't pack as compactly, and are probably heavier.

I don't discount what you have heard from employees at the brewery. But the article below describes future capacities the brewery will achieve in the near future. Based on the volume described, exporting out of state seems to be the most logical way to keep their product moving. Combined with the edge of their distribution being right to Vancouver WA, I predict we will be seeing their product in Portland before the end of 2015.Everything I've heard from people at Fremont is that they really aren't interested in Oregon expansion, even with the new production facility in Ballard. They're still working on getting into certain parts of WA.
I've heard that they are harder to puncture.

BALE BREAKER! Field 41, when I can find it fresh, is my favorite six pack. Fremont, Almanac, and Perennial all distro into the Couv. We should be getting Almanac in PDX pretty soon from what I have heard. What are the best beer bars/bottle shops in Vancouver? They get Fremont, Almanac, and Perennial, correct? What else do they get that Portland doesn't?
This. When you need cans, this.BALE BREAKER! Field 41
Amen. Fremont hoppy beers are fine. Bale Breaker makes me jealous of Washington state for everyday drankin'.This. When you need cans, this.
I ******* crush like a case of this a month. No doubt one of the top ten beers outta WA state for me.
Fremont is great at malts and -bals. Their hops are good, but not on Bale Breaker level. Their beers are killer.
Pringle dry mouths' only cure.I ******* crush like a case of this a month.

Cowiche Canyon is great, yes, but only for like 2 months of the year. Bale Breaker is all year round.Big Bale Breaker fan too, but do you guys even Cowiche Canyon?! Hnnngggg
I will be flying out to PDX next Saturday (the 18th) for a week's vacation with the family. Same trip we do every year. There'll be plenty of family activities, but I tend to get some time to myself for beer related activities. Let me know if you want to grab a beer.
Pretty excited to check out the Commons new space. Everything I've had from them has been very tasty.
Is De Garde available around PDX, or do you have to go to Tillamook? Last year when I was in PDX, it was nowhere to be found. Doubt I'll have any time to make it out to the coast. I've yet to get my hands on any.
If anyone needs an New Glarus or other Midwest shelf turds, I should have room in my bags for some bottles on the way out. All I require is your undying love. And cash.
You should be able to find some regular Bu and Petit Desay. Anything other than that will only be in Tillamook self-imported by shady retailers, or distributed in quite unusual situations.I will be flying out to PDX next Saturday (the 18th) for a week's vacation with the family. Raspberry Tart and Wisconsin Belgian Red for me?

Yer Bu and Hop Bu were both at Belmont Station for a while, Yer Bu might still be there
Gigantic is well-worth the visit, as is Breakside.Howdy! I'm taking my first trip to Oregon later this month for the De Garde anniversary party. I'll be getting into town a few days early. Are there any other events going on during that week? What are the best brewery tours, bars, bottle shops, etc. I hope to visit Cascade, HOTD, The Commons, and Upright already. I would love some more options, places to eat (especially if they have a decent beer selection too) and places I should avoid.
Was thinking of visiting Block 15 in Corvallis as well. Are there any other can't miss or underrated breweries, bottle shops, or places to visit outside of Portland proper?
Thanks in advance.
Funny you mention hobos...3wks and I'll be all over your town like a hobo on a ham sammich...
