woo dawgy. Shaggy with the deetz.
Wonder how all those other cities always have that kind of thing goin on, when you see a clip "live from St. Louis" during an NBC broadcast or what have you. Granted some are canadian, so rules may differ. But I guess it makes sense. Still doesn't seem fair when I can't stream the game on my iPad via the NBCSN app, like I usually do, just because it's a playoff/cup game.

tldr: ISO- TV

Weird. I have an AppleTv and it lets me watch the game. But the NHL is really kooky with their broadcasting rights. I bought the NHL pass thing and immediately cancelled it when I realized pretty much every single Blackhawks and Penguins game would be "blacked out"

I know sadly for Tampa fans they did have an outside viewing/block party for when they were in Pittsburgh. It is a thing, just not Pittsburgh for some reason.

Nhl is struggling for viewers why have a couple thousand people in one spot. Look at the ratings from game one of the finals and game 7 of the nba it's a joke

Well isn't that just because these two teams aren't from major markets? Last year's finals crushed. Plus this year's NBA finals has a lot of drama right? Not saying you're wrong, but this is just a fluke. Hockey has been on the up and up.

So has lacross doesn't mean it's in the same league as the big three sports. hockey is horrible at marketing its product doesn't help tonight's game is on nbcsn not on nbc.

You are probably right. More concerned about how much money they squeeze out of you trying to go to a game.
They will care when this contract is up and people realize that they are pulling in the same amount of people as a cw show. Tv money is the easiest money for a sports team look at baseball and why the Pirates r so far behind the 8 ball.

A little off topic and not at all helpful, but I saw a flyer at Roundabout for a series of outdoor movies in parks and parking garages around the city this summer. They used to do this in Chicago and it was a ******* blast.

https://madeinpgh.com/the-summerlong-schedule-of-outdoor-movie-screenings-in-pittsburgh/

We did two last year with the kids and they loved it; were well behaved for the most part. Really dig the outside movies. My brother lives in Hershey and they started throwing movies up once in a while on a 100 foot inflatable screen in a park, about two minutes from his house (and like ten from Troegs, so growlers).

Sunday nights in the summer they screen movies at schenley park. We take the kids all the time. It's really fun. Pack a cooler and sometimes they have food trucks. I think they do it at a bunch of parks in the city.

Yes.

All the games have been on nbcsn

Pain in my dick, because we get ten channels and this isn't one of them. WTF; why not nationally televised?

I think the rest is on nbc after tonight

Good, because pain in my dick otherwise.

Because hockey isn't very popular... But, you know that.

It does kind of amaze me that they can't at least get one of the cable networks to pick it up though. TNT and TBS show plenty of baseball and basketball now days. They can't get them to sign on to show hockey playoffs?

Companies want exclusivity for the major events....So I am sure NBC's deal with NHL makes them the only place to watch it.

Yeah I understand that for the time being. Just saying I can't believe they couldn't find a deal where the earlier round games wouldn't be more visible nationally. TNT or something of that ilk isn't NBC, but it's a lot more visible than NBCSN.

People still manage to get pretty hyped for the triple crown. I don't understand it at all personally, but to each their own.

I worked for a company that designed software for the horse racing industry and over the years I got to see how grim the sport has become.
