Since the best beer from a Pittsburgh brewer(!), Breakfast of Champions, is on tap at Voodoo Homestead right now, everyone who is anyone should have been there at 3PM and on their second pint of BOC by the time MBP news hit the book.

That beer is real good. I agree. Though I've been crushing Big Secret Pizza Party anytime it's on

Anyone have any solid suggestions for bottle shops/beer bars/breweries/restaurants to hit up in Connecticut & Boston area? Heading there next week to photograph a wedding and I have a couple days to kill.

I already plan on TreeHouse, Trillium, Jack's Abby, and Night Shift.
Why dont you listen to the rules of the beersite overlords and post in the right ******* forum you jabroni, lest you be judged by an online jury of your peers

Julio's is kinda a hike. Especially if you're anywhere near 95 / 459 during daytime hours. Unless you are in & out of that area between 11am & 2pm. Redstone liqors and Rapids liquors in Stoneham are both really good shops. Used to work there. My go to would be DownTown in Somerville though. Ask about their "unlisted" cellared items too. They wont tell you unless you ask. A TotalWine actually just opened in Everett, which would be perfect for the Nshift visit.

Drink/eat@ Bukowski Tavrn, Lord Hobo (the bar in cambridge), cambridge Brewing Company, Redbones, Highland Kitchen.
If you are driving between CT & MA, stop at Julians in Providence. Stellar beer list. Awesome grub. If u r not the poor, Heminways in PVD is really tasty, not huge on beer though. And if you are between the two places, via 95N, Proclamation & Tilted Barn are both within 10-15min of the highway, and are really slaying hole right now. Totally rec both.

FWIW- Kent Falls brewing, out of CT is actually really awesome if you can find their stuff. And depending on the day and locale, you may be able to score some Lawsons down there. In general, Connecticut sucks though. I wouldnt even bother if I were you, and I'm sorry you have to be there at all. Godspeed.

Congrats voodoobrewery youve made it. People's butts are hurt.

Penn Brewery:
The festivities continue tomorrow with the farewell installment of the Pennsylvania Microbrewers’ Fest. More than two dozen craft breweries will be pouring samples. Try something new and different, including:
- Allegheny City Brewing: Beet it on Down the Line IPA
- Millcreek Brewing: Yinz Mupbeer a Belgian Wit
- North Country: Buck Snort Stout on Bourbon
- Reclamation Brewing Company: Lupulin Rex Imperial IPA
- Rock Bottom Brewery: Gin Aged IPA
- Penn Brewery - Rasperry Berlinerweiss and Mango & Pineapple IPA

80’s favorites radio jocks Jimmy & Steve, and Norm Nardini will be there, live! Punxsutawney Phil will also join us for a meet & greet. And don't worry about missing the Penguins game - we'll have a big screen in the Biergarten so you won't need to miss any of the Stanley Cup Finals' action!

Anyone here use untappd to check out draft lists at places? I noticed last weekend when I was searching on there that Pig Iron and Carson Street deli keep an updated draft list on their venue page. Is there any other one stop shop page for draft lists in Pittsburgh? I know Philly has Philly Tap Finder but what do we have?

It's a shame most places around here don't use beermenus. Most other cities I've been to use that or taphunter.
So nice.

I was just browsing Philly Tap Finder, what a great page. I like that you can break things down by "Hoods" and "On Tap". I wonder if these places that use a service like PTF see a noticeable drop in web traffic. Not like it would matter if it netted more customers but I am looking at it from a pure SEO sales perspective.

Galli just signed Epic. All for Big Bad Baptist and Brainless variants turding up the shelves.

Love me some BBB. I usually snag Sour Brainless on Peaches when I see it but I am sure we won't see it out this way. Yeah the rest will be turding up the shelves big time.

It's crazy how many places over in the Philly/NJ/NYC area use BeerMenus, and it's even more awesome with how up to date it is, even with the little podunk mom and pop shops. I took my first ever beer haul trip a few years back, and this website was the best help I could ask for. Bourbon County Cherry Rye, Bourbon County Coffee bombers, Parabola, Sucaba, a ton of Fantome beers, etc. were listed at numerous places.

PhillyTapFinder is just as awesome, but you have to remember that Philly sees a ton of distribution that Pittsburgh doesn't. I always use it to find stuff when I'm visiting the City of Brotherly Love.

I know House of 1000 Beers is up to date! http://houseof1000beers.com/#ontap

I would love to get more local businesses on the platform. I know there's some political challenges for Giant Eagle to adopt something across the board. http://epicure.io/o/giant-eagle

With some adoption I could create some cool mappage with filtering that could be helpful.

If you're out and about tell a pub about epicure.io and I will buy you a beer or 10!
