ur boy catlicks - are you the creative genius behind this new EP from Kid Bookie?

You are a better man than I.

I continued to pound pour after pour of Zangy at the end of the fest and ended up naked in a Dennys (or was it Perkins?) a couple hours later.

You may have been one of the last persons I talked to (outside of my group) just prior to my Zangy farewell tour. Buddy and I then walked to the pub location (where I sent a burger down my gullet with the task of soaking up three hours of BA stouts and Bokkereyder and for some reason ordered two Pilsners because I needed more beer), then to a drugstore for some supercharged Pedialyte (mine was blue and not the BA version) before retreating to the hotel pool to have a pre-bottle share, can share.

In between the can and bottle share, we walked across the hotel parking lot toward Perkins but instead audibled to the Italian restaurant (where I sent a sizable Delmonico down to check on the status of the burger), which might have been for the best, as I didn't have any paper money for your show. Please lmk next time you're in town and I will get a bunch of ones from the nearest PNC.

was anyone elses experience with this version of zangy straight pete smoke or do I blame the BBQ joint for ******* with me?

Not sure if srs, but no peat on my end, brother. Could be remnants of that Delmonico are stuck on my chompers, so maybe I've some lipids still clinging to my molars and it's blocking the full experience.

Which one of you ******* ******** runs the @canspgh twitter account? If possible it’s actually worse than the trifecta of completely inane Facebook groups.

For no reason in particular I just assumed that was a Cercone/Breaking Brews/Word of the Poured/Pittsburgh Libations Week/Over a Couple of Beers/Pittsburgh Craft Beer Network joint.

Not sure if anyone in here cares about Pittsburgh's place in the national music scene but a couple of things have popped up recently that must be shared.

If you don't care about hip-hop, then you can ignore...

First this story about DJ Jazzy Jeff with support from the late great J Dilla at Jerry's records:
https://blog.discogs.com/en/j-dilla...ium=spotlight&utm_campaign=Culture_2019_02_10

And then this **** - as reviewed by an LA based youtube reviewer I respect and pay attention to - discussing the new Malibu Ken record...which is Aesop Rock (one of the all time greats) plus Tobacco (from Pittsburgh based psych outfit Black Moth Super Rainbow). Check out the 2:23ish mark. Blew my mind that this little local Pittsburgh news story has been immortalized by the legendary ******* Aesop Rock.

Also....beer.

If anyone can summarize, there’s like a 69 message thread on FB complaining about BG’s maple beer. I’m sure it’s because someone blocked me long ago, but can someone summarize?

I dont think it's Cercone. What makes you say it sucks so much? I don't really pay attention to it.

Not beer industry per se but I've heard of lots of women getting roofied at spirit in LV, fyi
not doubting you, but anecdotally, I've frequented spirit since they opened, and often with the finer sex. However never heard of ppl getting roofied there. can't speak the same for people voluntarily ingesting substances though. I will say that one dude from the security company that they pimp out to is definitely predetor-esque and ensures the emission of many creepvibes. I'll keep an eye out though.

Saw somewhere the Sly Fox is setting up shop in Pgh. If this means I can find fresh Pikeland Pils again then I am fully supportive.
Two spots in PGH. Plus a Brewdog taproom & a Platform taproom & a taproom from some other forgettable Cleveland brewery. Saturation, smaturation.

It was nice finally putting a face to a poster here. Met moarhops down at Piper's this past Saturday. First time I've visited in a while but excellent food and beer selection as always. So cool seeing a beer like Mammoth on tap outside of Brew Gentlemen.

Also, why did Independent Brewing Company have to change their hours so that they don't open until 5:00 pm? Catching a flick at the Manor/Regent Square and then heading up for some afternoon beers was something that my wife and I really enjoyed. Come on IBC, make day drinking great again.

Are you guys having trouble finding it? Not that I don't like that beer, but fresh Pils isn't difficult to find here in Pittsburgh.
I live in Westmoreland county. The places I frequent to buy beer typically have Pikeland Pils cans that have had a birthday (if they have it at all). I am sure there are places around town that have it, I just never seem to go to said places.

I feel like they've had a 5pm opening forever, no? When were you there last? I agree it's a bummer though.

Oh yeah, it's been since probably a year or so at least. Kind of like how people like to piss and moan about the weather here on a weekly basis, I felt like being redundant and wanted to point out again how bad these hours suck. :D

The struggle is real...
While I am on a lager rant, someone get Jack's Abbey in here. Post Shift Pils pounders are always bought en masse when I frequent the in-laws in Buffalo. That and Firestone Lager with the occasional Von Trappe score makes me a happy man.

Or maybe BG can finally can some of their Lagers.... Wouldn't be mad to find some All Saints St Jozeph pils cans either. A man can dream can't he...
