I need to unpack my pipes, it's been near 2 years since I moved ant they are still packed away. Thanks to this thread I just happened upon I think I'm going to head to the basement and poke around.

Indeed I did find them all!

And I found my pipe tobacco as well! I always kept my tobacco in my humidor to maintain the proper humidity, and when I moved I vacuum packed it and tossed it into the box with the bubble wrapped pipes

Amazing that it's in perfect smoking order. I loaded up the church warden and puffed away.....

Perhaps I should get a few pics of my pipes together, nothing too fancy, but they all smoke wonderfully.

Also.... That pipe tobacco is a 60/40 blend of black cavendish and cherry burley if memory serves me right, no idea why it's such a delight to me, but it has always been a favorite.

Scoob! What's up man? Long time, no chat!

Now that you're in Illinois, we need to meet up and grab a beer. :mug:

Indeed we do need to meet up!

Pm me thoughts on a where/when thing, I'm supposed to meet with a few members of the St. Andrews society for a few drams, maybe we could incorporate into a beer and scotch get together!

We're the boys from Illinois
We ride the roads and ditches.......

I remember that from my teenage years. Have no idea of how it goes now.

We're the boys from illinois
We live in caves and ditches
We bang our cocks on jagged rocks
We're mean sons of *******

We're The boys from illinois
We live in caves and ditches
We wipe our ass with broken glass
And laugh because it itches

HaHaHa.. Illinois! Now I remember that ditty.

We were one of the last states to ban smoking in restaurants, I'm not sure the helmet law has passed yet, and as far as I know Il is one of the few states that doesn't take state tax out of a serviceman's pay (as long as they are stationed outside Illinois) and I could have kept my drivers license from my 16th birthday till I was no longer in the military.. Renew by mail for a couple bucks every 4-5 years. (EDIT - No, it was just good till I left the military even after 30 years, no fee)

Il, is also one of few states that pays (might be past tense now) free Il State, or U of I tuition to any Illinoisan that honorably served the military..

That's my home state - Rebellious but definitely not southern.. redneck at times? Hmm... Hell yes! Overall pretty good folks and home of Abraham Lincoln :mug:

Newb to pipe smoke, here's my pickups over the past week, not including a Torino straight sandblast in my work truck. Looking forward to smoking through the Boswell blends, which is funny, with cigars I'm not a flavored fan.

Nice looking pipes and tobacco collection. Enjoy brother!

Speaking of flavored cigars, has anyone tried the Drew Estate Java cigar? I had one over New Years. OMG! That was the best thing I've ever touched! Had it with two cups of decent coffee, and it was magical.

Sounds magical!

The Java was my gateway into non-flavored cigars. Can't handle them now, but glad they pulled me in. Nothing like making time to relax.

It did smoke real cool, and the filter chamber that you put more tobacco in seemed to add more room note to the smoke, especially on the retro hale. Same tobacco, same packing, same pace my Peterson smoked hot.
Was way easy to clean too.

Yes, Summertime approaching quickly. I bought my girlfriend a hookah two years ago for Christmas, and I gave up cigarettes last year. Will smoke cigars with some buddies when they come over for some brews. Contemplating buying a pipe and some tobacco though. Saw a video on it the other day, and seems to be quite relaxing. Any tips where to start?

^^If you want to give pipe smoking a shot but not dump much money - try a corncob pipe, theyre very inexpensive, dont really need broke in much and smoke cool. Pipe tobacco - man, the variety is vast. Try an old favorite, Prince Albert. Very mild and cool smoke.

Agree with you on the corn cob. They smoke surprisingly cool. Another HBT member made me one, and it easily one of my favorite pipes.
