I just started kegging and yesterday I went to connect the liquid line to my pin lock keg, but i ran into a problem. I can't get the quick disconnect to go down far enough on the liquid post to be able to turn it to lock it in and have it stay. I was able to get it down far enough so that the poppet valve opened and I could pull some beer off the keg, although it was a bit messy because the QD wasn't fully on. I tried purging the co2 from the headspace thinking maybe I was fighting against the pressure in the keg but I still couldn't get it on. I tried the same QD on my other (empty) keg and it went on no problem. Any idea what's going on here? Am I doing something wrong? The issue seems to be with the liquid post since the QD worked on the other keg. I'm definitely using the liquid QD with the liquid post, so thats not the issue...

Sounds like the poppet is not depressing far enough. Could it be an incompatible poppet was installed into the post?

You could try putting some keg lube on the O ring of post. Some of mine get sticky from time to time and that helps

I'll second this, check that before you suspect a bad poppet.

Clean the o-ring on the post well, scrub the QD side and put a little lube on it... if you don't have keg lube, just try spraying it with some starsan and give it a good push.

Mine get really sticky from time to time as well and need to be cleaned off.

Thanks for the replies! I took out the post and replaced the o-ring with a replacement o-ring that kegconnection provided with the kit and that worked. Turns out the o-ring that was on the post to begin with was a little bigger than it should've been and that was the problem.
