I have a herms build in progress using propane, not electric. Control from pid/ssr is not applicable.

I just want to use rtd sensors for their accuracy over dial stick thermometers.

Are there any cheap alternatives to pids that will just display the temperature from an rtd?

I plan on using bargainfittings sightglass fittings with tee and 1/2 npt by 4" liquid tight sensor from auberins.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

Bobby, in regards to your recommendation, would I have to buy 4 thermometers and 4 compression fittings? (I plan on one going to herms coil output and one each to: bk, mt, hlt)

After reading around it seems like the options for permanent thermometers are:

1.) npt threaded brewmometers (inconsistent)
2.) npt compression fittings as bobby suggested for use with .25" probe thermometer
3.) npt threaded rtd or pt100 style sensors with pid or universal thermometer (most $/most accurate)
4.) brewmometers for show and a thermapen to dough (terrible pun)
