I try my hardest to avoid philly at all costs.
For you Philly peeps, what kind of drive is it from Philly (Fishtown area) to Other Half / Grimm? I am not from this side of the state, but every time I've been out to Philly and driven, the traffic was always crazy, and I always seemed to hit a lot of tollbooths.
Without traffic you can get to Brooklyn in around an hour and a half. It really just depends when you go.For you Philly peeps, what kind of drive is it from Philly (Fishtown area) to Other Half / Grimm? I dig them, their lambics are closer to a Berliner then a lambic but I still enjoy.Has anyone had or does anyone know anything about Free Will Brewing? I know it's north of Philly but this seemed the closest thread to ask about it.
They make authentic American lambic according to their bottles and SeaWatchman
What do you want to know about them? They no longer call their beers lambics, just sours now. Their older sours used to have a lot of acetone. However, their program seems to be turning a corner. Ollie was a beautiful oud bruin, it really is their love child. Their other sours seem to be losing that vinegar aspect even if they are still a bit thin. They have hopefully turned a corner and will start producing some really solid sour beersHas anyone had or does anyone know anything about Free Will Brewing? Some of their stuff moves while other sits. As far as their sours go-their peach and now their ollie seem to move relatively quickly at the show where I work. However other sours such as their key lime and grape seem to sit on the shelf for long stretches collecting dust. They have some solid non sour offerings as well such as their C.O.B. I think they might unfortunately fade due to their vinegary sours. They are better now but they are going to need people to give them another chance which with all the offerings out there now I dont know people will want to. Ollie is a great step forward, hopefully this is the direction the brewery is going.Yeah I'm just looking for overall information about the brand, what are people's thoughts. Are they just dust collectors on store shelves, or do people look for them? They're about to come up this way, and I'm simply looking to get a snapshot of what this corner of the beer world thinks of them. I'm worried that anything that hits distro up here that doesn't blow people away is going to just fade into the background, like everything else has in 2015.
