I am wondering if I might be using my Perlick model 630SS wrong. I have two faucets that I bought from two different locations new. I just installed and tested my setup with cleaner / sanitizer.

When I open the tap everything works great. When I close it though it dribbles a bit. Sometimes right away and sometimes after about 5-10 seconds. By dribble I mean it would make a mess, more than a drip, like everything in that is left in the shank/faucet comes out. I have tried this on both and both do it, but very randomly.

It is a simple pull forward and push backwards, correct? I would hate to walk away with a beer and here it dribble on to my floor.

Maybe just some break in time?

Should be high enough. The faucet closes and is kept closed by hydraulic pressure. If you have gas or foam collecting at the faucet they tend to not close as solidly as when there's clear beer doing the shoving. Also, the lever action has to be smooth and hitch-free. If it feels like it's binding you may need to adjust the bonnet (item 2) to get the lever to move free and smoothly.

[Perlick uses one parts diagram for a handful of 600 series faucets, so ignore the flow control and push-back creamer parts, etc.]

If you still can't get the faucet to be dribble-free you can try flipping the O-ring at the spout over (item 7, shown at the shank end). You have to remove the faucet lever assembly to flip that O-ring over....

Cheers!

Man that is service!

I went and messed around some more and increased the pressure to 15 psi and tried both taps again. I am not seeing any more "dribbles" maybe 3/4 drips when I close the faucet. No binding everything feels nice and smooth. Maybe it did not care for the cleaner being run thru at a lower psi <shrug>. I should have some beer on it in the next week or so and will run it thru its paces.

Thanks for the help and the added info, exploded view etc..

We do indeed aim to serve :)

At the conclusion of a pour it is entirely typical to see 3 drips from Perls.
Across all six of my 525's it's always one...two...........three drips.
The 600 series with the steeper spout and the shorter "porch" (the horizontal distance from the spout O-ring to where the spout transitions downwards) might cut that to two drips - iirc someone who went from 525s to the 630 noted that...

Cheers!

I'm curious if you when you get the dribbling, you hear and feel that kind of "click" of the ball slamming shut due to the pressure when you close the faucet?

Not that I've noticed. I have 525ss and I just got 2 630ss. They have a totally different feel to them. The 630ss seem too easy to flip open to me. I like the fact that I have to apply some pressure to open and close my old taps.

No I really do not feel it shutting. I push the handles back and I would say I would have to leave my cup glass there for a second. Maybe I will try and take some video. Maybe its just user error.

Then something may not be balanced properly. I get a distinct "snap" when it closes. Maybe your lines are too long for the pressure setting?
