Now that Pacman yeast is available for a short time I was considering using it for a Jubelale clone. Most Jubelale recipes seem to be calling for an English yeast strand, like White Labs Essex Ale. Does anyone think it'd be a good or bad idea to use Pacman? From my understanding Pacman is very versatile and almost everything from Rogue is fantastic, in my opinion. Thanks

Just to confirm, you know that Jubelale is made by Deschutes Brewery, not Rogue? Deschutes uses an English strain (WLP002 or WY1968 I believe) for most if not all their beers, and Rogue uses the Pacman. That said, I am sure Pacman will be fine, just a slighty cleaner yeast profile.

But if you're set on using Pacman, why not try a Dead Guy clone?

Either way, good luck.
