If you're concerned about the airlock, grab a 1" OD tube and stuff it in the neck of the carboy, should be a tight fit, but that Will open up your flow. Your airlock rig should be fine, just keep an on it.
Don't worry about sanitation, well now. Nothing's contaminated, well the foam that escaped is, but you weren't drinking that anyways.

. The CO2 coming out will have kept any nasties from entering your beer.
There are several posts around here of people who insist that a blow off tube during initial fermentation is the way to go. So to them you just did yourself a favor.
Don't forget to remove your tube when the acidity subsides. I wouldn't think that cup of foam is very sanitary.
I have not used a foam control, but I don't know why you would want to add something to your wort that would interfere with fermentation. We try so hard to control everything to get a good active fermentation, then you are going to halt that? Seems like a bad idea, and counterproductive. Not saying it is wrong, I try to add as little possible to my wort, personal preference. I would just deal with aggressive fermentation, and consider it a blessing.
