Some homie bought 2013 KBBS for $1000:

It is commonly considered to be the greatest breakfast style barrel aged stout of all time.

To me, the most mind blowing aspect of selling someone a KBBS for a thousand dollars is not including free shipping. I mean, come on, you gotta sweeten the deal somehow. Nothing more tempting about a 1000 dollar bottle of beer than free ******' shipping.

I seriously doubt the authenticity of some of these. Makes me wonder if some ass-hat had two accounts or if they have a friend "buy" it but not ever actually pay and get it just trying to drive up the value?!?

At this point that's the only explanation. I would not be surprised at all if people were manipulating these sites to affect trade value, since it's so common now for people to use MBC $$$'s to compare trades. That works (more or less) if the sites are actual fair markets, but if they're not...

I've thought this as well but what causes me to give pause is how there seem to be several different buyers and sellers rather than it being the same people on both ends of the transaction more than once. In particular some of the auctions on MBCollectibles have a bunch of different bidders.

That's sinister, but definitely not a crazy idea.

I think you might be vastly underestimating the amount of free time some beerds have.

relevant:

am i the only one kinda bothered by the fact that the $1275 being charged for 3 bottles doesn't include free shipping? can't let that $25 shipping charge eat into my profits!

also, the friends and family option is... 3%, yes? in this case it's $38ish but i've seen posts asking for friends and family when the bottle is like $75. seriously? you couldn't foot that $2 charge yourself?

SIAP $255/$267 3F Intense Red: http://www.mybeercellar.com/?itm=17167

"NO PAYPAL unless sent as friends and family gift if paying with paypal ADD 5% If paying with postal money order SUBTRACT $10.00 Shipping is $15 Wait to hear from me before paying."

An arithmetic problem that is likely too difficult for most of my college algebra students.

http://mybeercellar.com/?itm=34472 Lock the thread people. This is the mac daddy of all **** MBC deals. $28,000+$1000 shipping for.....mostly crappy Bruery beers and shelf turds with a few years of age.
Well, this guys has 3 Cascade bottles I'm missing for my Cascade tasting. Not sure I feel like taking a second mortgage to get those 3 bad boys though.

I like also the fact that the bottle count for some is "0".

If it's true I feel bad but some people on Facebook are claiming the guy passed away and his wife is trying to sell all the beers

Doggie Claws $4-5, from the wood $10-15.

Westy Brick for $10? Please tell me where.

You should add columns for current retail value. Cantillon 2006 Iris may have been $20 at original retail, but let's get real - no one would sell it for that today.

My rough back of the napkin estimate - stated MBC price of $28k is 25-30% above original retail.
