You've worked with me for like 8 years, Ryan, and I don't think I've ever given you reason to think I'm blatantly misrepresenting my intentions. I told you non members wouldn't be able to get Transient beers. You asked to know the specific method we were going to use to ensure non-members wouldn't get Transient beers, and a guarantee that what I had said was in fact true.

My comments aren’t an indictment of you, your establishment or how you run your business. I’m just expressing publicly what lots of people are expressing privately. Forgive me for prodding a little given the fact that a few days and tons of angry emails ago this was an open event to anyone and the only difference was someone paying vs. not. It wasn’t my attention to accuse you or anyone of blatantly misrepresenting anything, I’m just looking for clarity.

Just come on Sunday and have fun. There will be plenty of beer. If we **** it up, it's not because we tried to screw anyone out of beer they deserve.

That’s the plan.

Anything fun or noteworthy from the party today? I'm assuming at least some locals were able to make it over. Zero chance given the weather for a lot of us with any sort of a drive.
Shamps is a 12% beer that drinks like a 6% beer. I have never had a beer that big drink so small. Literally dangerous.

Everything was great and the whole thing was run perfectly as expected.

quinnsi and Transient put together a really nice party. I have mixed feelings about the Illinois membership ending, but I'm mostly happy since I've seen an uptick in Transient beers on shelves and obviously managing an Illinois membership from Michigan seems like a lot of work. I have no grievances overall either -- I viewed this membership more as a means of support for a cool brewer and brewery. And come on guys, the beers delivered.

Hazelnut Buckley and Shamps were the standouts for me at the party today. Also the Beer Temple space is really nice, and it wasn't as nuts-to-butts as I was expecting.

Snow prevented me from making it out.

Hopefully the weather is clear for the drive to Bridgman next Sunday..

I guess I gotta find some time to pick up my bottles this week too..

I made it from Oak Brook maybe no as far as others but the expressways we fine being a Sunday it helped to not have traffic...

I thought just passing through was a pretty awesome beer, first time trying that. Overall it was a great time and ran great.

That was my #1 beer of the day, too, and I hope they package that sometime. I liked Shamps a lot and I think everything that was on draft was at least really good.

Looking forward to crushing more of these out in Bridgman next weekend.

Just Passing Through was bottled. It made the rounds a few weeks ago. Went quick though. Actually saw a few bottles on the shelf yesterday at Beer Temple for a minute. It was in the cooler room. Then when I went back to buy some stuff later in the day they were gone.

Ha, shows how well I pay attention!

Popped my bottle of Sangre de Miton.

Very pleased.

The cork was a BITCH to get out. Had to use a corkscrew it was so tight. The carbonation was spot on. The color is an amazing deep purple, with a vibrant purple head. Reminds me of a de Garde purple beer. The taste was very pleasing too. Personally I've found a lot of Transient's golden sour ale based beers to be too acidic and abrasive. This was more nicely restrained. I thought the fruit was very well integrated as well, a nice fresh fruitiness lending more cherry and grape flavor than tartness that sometimes happens with fruited sours. A really nice beer.

Also, most recent batch of Juice Is Loose cans. Damn. Straight fire. Drank my first directly from the van and it was just okay. Poured second and third can into a glass and WOW. That beer really benefits from opening up in a glass. Reminded me of the first time I had that beer; it left me just saying “wow. Holy ****. Damn. Someone taste this.”

I had the same feeling about the draft version on Sunday. My pallette was wrecked when I tired it and it was still incredible. Glad to hear the cans are on par. Will definitely have to open one tonight for science.

not sure exactly but there were people who got a free bottle from boxes of older Transient beers might of been that.

Yeah, I picked mine up close to the very end. There was a box of some vintage bottles and I guess you were supposed to just randomly/blindly pick one. There were only a couple bottles left so Rachel ended up just letting me pick which one I wanted....got a Blueberry DB Obelus.

Good event, and it was very manageable crowd-wise the whole time I was there, which was from about 3:15 til 6.

RIP to my last Transient glass. Looks like I need to make a visit to Bridgman soon!

Has anyone who chose the No Party option received their $40 yet?

I wouldn't expect it for a couple days. Wasn't the deadline Sunday night, in case you were hoping to make it to Michigan but didn't? I'd say Monday and Tuesday are their 'weekend' so probably won't be getting down to business until tomorrow.

Chris left to pour in Iceland this week for a fest maybe that will delay it not sure.
