I've brewed 10 batches and have had some excellent results without a lot of trouble, but with this new batch of honey weizen I came across something odd. The airlock isn't bubbling at all until I tap on the carboy. Even if I just flick it, it starts to bubble like a regular primary ferment. It's been in the carboy for 3 days and has a nice krausen on it, also I know there aren't any leaks in the airlock or bung. Can anyone explain this?

You probably know this already, but still..

If you your beer is fermenting, your yeast is making alcohol and co2. Your fermentor need to vent this co2. If it's fermenting (like it is, you can see a krausen as you said) you are all good.

You will either

A) See airlock activity from the point where the pressure inside the fermentor is high enough so co2 must escape through the airlock.

B) You have a leak.

It's seriously that simple.

If you are using the 3 piece airlock with that POS cage one the bottom you could have something hung up in there. If it's blocked it could blow the airlock up to the ceiling. AMHIK!
