Nope.
New England did something similar a few years back against the Colts, going for it on fourth-and-2 (and failing, and losing the game). But that was from the Colts 40 yard line, and Indy's offense that year was pretty much unstoppable. New England's defense that year was also pretty atrocious. New England has also been pretty much driving at will, too - that was a case where it was much better to trust in your offense to gain two yards, than to trust your defense not to give up eighty.
Not the same situation as yesterday. Cowboys would have been almost in field goal range already if you failed. You're on the road, which makes it that much harder to get a good play off, or to effectively do a hard-count. And Reggie Bush is good, but he's not the kind of running back you just give the ball to and trust he's going to push the pile forward for two years (he's not... gasp! Marshawn Lynch). As good as Megatron is, that's not a passing down.
Would have been phenomenally stupid to go for it there, on the road, basically conceding the tie if you don't make it. You punt the ball and make them drive 80-90 yards to win, or at least make them drive 50 yards for a shot at the tie. Especially since Detroit's defense has mostly been pretty good.
