Im working on an oatmeal stout recipe. I want it a little on the bigger side, so it is out of style a bit, but what do you guys think of the balance and ingredient list?

11 lb Marris otter (81%)
1.5 lb Flaked oats (11%)
0.5 lb chocolate malt (4%)
0.25 lb black patent (2%)
0.25 lb roasted barley (2%)

2.0 oz UK goldings @ 4.5%

5.5 gal batch, 75% eff. OG 1.062, SRM 31, IBU 30.5. Plan on using S-04 yeast.

That IS a big Oatmeal Stout. I have a spot on clone of Anderson Valley's Barney Flats Oatmeal stout and I've made 70 gallons of the stuff. For the 10 gallon clone it uses 2 lbs of Oatmeal, 2 lbs of chocolate, 2 lbs of Munich, 2 of Cara 80 and 2 of Cara 40L. You won't need the Munich, since your base is MO. This 10G batch uses 17lbs of 2 row. You might want to add some cara in there somewhere. I also use 8 oz of wheat for head retention and 4 oz of black patent for color. Also, I like English Ale yeast (Wyeast 1968) for Oatmeal Stouts, but the US04 would probably do fine. My recipe came for Anderson Valley, but I had to scale it down from a 3300 gallon batch. Most people like my clone better than the original.

Thanks guys. I might bump up the bittering hops a bit. I also plan on mashing 151-152ish, I don't want to go too high and have the S-04 leave too much sweetness behind.
