Hey im new to beersmith and i had a mash profile Question. How do i get it to calculate Both Strike and sparge water Volume?

I go to name choose Single infusion full body batch sparge and click add
i select water grain ratio, and enter what i want...This part works fine i get an average of 4.5 gallons to mash in with

Now how do i get my sparge water Calculated...Do i average it in my self or will beersmith give me an approximation..?

Im not use to using Beersmith I use Brew Pal on my Phone So bare with ME!

Hmmm, I'm not near my program, so I will have to check later. I know you set the grain to water ratio and the boil and final volume. I believe it calculates the amount of sparge water for you based on that.

I have batch size set to 5.5 and boil time to 60 up at the top...Am i suppose to select a different mash set up in order for it to show Both Strike/Sparge Water?

Dude you are the Man i have been trying to figure this out for days...lol It says add 18qt wich is 4.5gallons at 168 hold for 60mins then drain mash tun
then batch sparge round 1 sparge with 4.19gal of 168.0

The water ratio's seem about right but sparge temp seems a little low dont you think?

I am no expert but I have always used 168 for batch sparging. I now fly sparge (also at 168).

BTW, If you are more comfortable with strike/sparge volumes in gallons you can change that in the TOOLS:OPTIONS:UNITS window. That is one of the first things I did.

Nice thanks again...I can now do everything in beersmith!

Cheers:mug:
