Hello All,
I've been reading for a few weeks but this is the first post.

I am taking a homebrew class where we brew on premises and this week we will be bottling our first batch - A Hopped Up IPA. I was trying to use some of my own bottles to cut down on the costs but I noticed that about half of my bottles (The ones from Redhook) say "No Refill" near the bottom on the side.

Can I use these? Has anyone used these before?

I appreciate your input and thanks for this forum!

When I first started out, I bought a couple of cases of empty bottles from my LHBS. They said no refill at the bottom. Even some brand new bottles will say that.

Now when I'm out buying beer to drink (so I can save bottles), I just look for recappable bottles that have the wider/thicker neck next to the cap. My guy says the ones with the narrower ring around the top may break.

Just make sure you don't use twist off bottles and you will be OK. I've even heard of people using the twist off but with mixed results.

Thanks A Lot. I had to work hard at emptying these and didn't want all that hard work to go to waste...:mug:
