Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am located in Roanoke Va and new to the site.. I came across hb talk while researching equipment and what I needed to learn to home brew my first beer. Well needless to say how much information is here and everything you need to learn about brewing.

I have my starter equipment and kettle ordered and should be here next week. In the meantime I've been doing some reading and cleaning up 4 cases of old beer bottles to use for my first bottling and Ive gathered up a couple of 5gal glass carboys. Been reviewing some recipes to start with and will pick up the ingredients for the first batch.

I've been making some room in a 7x17 room which if i really fall in love with the hobby, I can make it my brew room. It is in the basement which is 8 ft under ground. I've been taking temperature reading to see where the temps have been staying this week and it has been staying 68 degrees. Back a couple of months ago the outside temps were 100 and our power went off for a week. During that time, we stayed in the finished basement and the temps never got above 72. So I'm thinking it should be good for most of the yeasts for ales to ferment except for the couple hot months maybe.

Anyway enough blabbing,
thanks to all the contributors!
Harold
