Hey there! Just joined the forum. Brewed a Bling Pig Clone (Blind Swine from BrewMasters) 3 weeks ago. Bottled it after 2 weeks last weekend. Just started brewing my second batch, which is the Pliny clone from MoreBeer. Just sticking to extract(ish) brewing for now. Glass carboys and bottles.

My next batch is a pale ale partial mash kit from The Beverage People in Santa Rosa, Ca. We'll see how it goes, a bit nervous about the PH stuff but it seems simple enough. Just gotta get some testing strips and balancers.

Digging it so far. Just trying to start slow and not worry about too much; although, I have researched and read a lot of information over the last month. Located in Mendocino County. Thanks for having me on the forum. I will have to poke around and see what kind of information is here besides the dozens of threads I have read through already.

Cheers!

I do. They used to grow hops here a long time ago but some disease killed off all the hop fields. Not many hops grown here now. Mostly just wine grapes and weed.

Another fun fact, one of the first brewpubs in the country was opened in Hopland: Mendocino Brewing company. Out of business now but another brewery in Sonoma County has started brewing some of their old recipes, which is pretty cool.

That is so cool.

Was that disease the Hops Latent Viroid? Them weed farmers better be careful, that viroid also attacks cannabis. Way cool on the early brewpub!
Where are my manners? Welcome to the forum from a Texas member! I started with extracts too.

No, it was Downy Mildew.

Thanks dude! Happy to be here. I used to be pretty active on the TacomaWorld forum. Hopefully I can get active on here too.
