Looking to brew a small batch using Nelson. I'm thinking of using 90% MO,
6.3% Vienna, 3.8% Honey Malt.
IBU's under 40. Will be using 1056 slurry.
Just not sure how Nelson will play with the grains I noted.
Thoughts?

Could end up on the sweet side with honey malt, <40 IBUs and Nelson. I find that some of the new world hops are so fruity they can add to the perception of sweetness. If you're doing a lower gravity beer you might be fine. If you're shooting for an IPA you might want to increase your IBUs.

Made a Belgian Golden strong with a similar grain bill and it turned out wonderful with a subtle white wine flavor.

Try it out! I used nelson for the first time in my previous batch. I enjoyed the aroma, but the flavor wasn't where I wanted it to be. I wish I would have used Mosaic instead.

I recently used Nelson in an IPA I brewed...late addition and dry hopped with it and Citra...the aroma is like grapefruit bubblegum.
