Does anyone have a clone for Molson OV? I have been asked by a local bar to recreate a beer similar to it and I'm not sure where to begin. Described as a mainstream style lager with a moderate hop character and slightly sweet, fruity, refreshing aroma and taste. I have had it and it does have it's differences from say a Molson Canadian. Anyone who may have a recipe or some input, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just from some Googling looks like a macro adjunct Vienna Lager. Corn seems to be the adjunct. Not sure if Molson changed it from Koch's original recipe when they took over. Quite possible they did, and usually slowly done over time.

Are you trying to get a staple beer contract with that bar? Macro type lagers are very hard to brew and even harder to do so in a consistent way from day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year. If you ever tried you should know.

Why not brew a much better (craft) beer instead? Plenty of Vienna Lager recipes out there.
What's your system size?

We brew on a 4bbl system and a bar owner in town is looking for something similar to OV. I know there are plenty of Vienna Lager recipes available but this is more of a light lager style with a bit of a fruity taste in the finish that I can't quite figure out. The bar has plenty of craft selections and he is only interested in one like this so he can support local and get rid of the OV tap he has.

I see.
Fruity flavor could be from the yeast('s) used and/or ferm temps. Then there's the malt choice and adjunct. Corn has its telltale too.
Perhaps Molson uses rice, like Coors does. That could make a difference.

Still, even if you had the exact recipe, process always remains a large variable.

Have you tried pro brewing forums?
Anyway, wishing you good luck finding a suitable clone.
