Checking into the world's largest trees, it's probably a redwood, maybe a sequoia. Basically meaning somewhere in... California. The "Open" sign seems to back up the US.

As to where in California, looking for the world's biggest tree HOUSES isn't getting me there. Yet.

Could be on the wrong path too of course.

Man, that's a toughy, well done.

About all I can get out of that is they drive on the right and there's a lot of new construction underway, but it could be anywhere.

The only hope is that at the bottom of the central building there looks like some writing. It's impossible to read but the spacing looks wrong for an alphabet language? But if those are characters, it can't be Japan because of driving on the right, so China or Korea?

I learned something new, but I just tried “split level gable” plus the name of the city and I didn’t get anywhere, so I’d suggest trying something else.
