So I got to thinking about your answer to @duncan.brown. It could be taken to suggest that it is a West Coast military installation. So the question is what the big thing on the hill could be. A llttle more thinking and "radar" seemed a possible answer. So I Googled "big radar station" and up came no pictures of it, but one picture, the Space Force radar station, looked most like it, so I clicked on that. Among the other things that then popped up was the thing in our post but in reference to something about a proposal to put this in Hawaii. When you clicked on that, however, the photo was labeled to identify our skyline posting.

Answer: Cobra Dane radar at Eareckson Air Station in Alaska. It is designed to tracck incoming ICBM warheads. YIKES!

Correct!. This is Shemya Island, Alaska in the Aleutian Islands. My father was stationed there during the cold war to spy on the Soviet missile launches in the nearby Kamchatka Peninsula. DB, you're up.

I've driven past (but never over) that bridge a bunch of times between Huntsville and Chattanooga. Correction, though: South Pittsburg is just over the state line into Tennessee, not Alabama.
