Santa Monica, CA. California Incline leading down to Pacific Coast Highway.
Finally one I know on sight and I am too late to the party. Oh well.

Well, if it makes you feel any better you still got it within like an hour of being posted. :)

Beautiful area. I was fortunate to visit Santa Monica twice last month, and got around the coast as best I could. Fell in love with Manhattan Beach.

Here we go. Looking for the name of the city. I don't really have a clean skyline pic, so we'll go with several city pics.

Xi'an it is! The first emperor' tomb, aka the terra-cotta warriors, is an amazing thing to behold.

I looked at the pictures again, and the last one made me think of those terra cotta soldiers. It's not one of them, but it made me suddenly think of it. It was a WAG.

I planned a train out of beijing to see them , but didn't do it. If you get to Epcot in Orlando, there's a pretty neat mockup of the whole thing in China.

I stayed in this town for several days. Met several really nice people at the local drinking hole.

I happened to be there at the perfect time to enjoy this spectacle.

A clue: every beer gets one of these. Only country that I know of where it's _always_ part of the pour. At least it was in the mid 90's.

You got it. Great town. And yes, Carnaval.

BTW, that thing at the bottom is the beer foam scraper. Every beer I was served had 1) a coaster and glass to match the brewery of the beer you ordered (they would change the coaster/glass if you changed the beer you were drinking, 2) the beer/foam line was perfectly in line with the logo on the glass, and 3) as the foam rose over the top of the glass, they would scrape it off to leave the glass with a perfect flat foam, level with the top. They were very particular about the presentation of the beer!

You're up K

btw, dutch beer "presentation"
The foam has to be in line with the brand mark on the glass, as this will give the legal maximum of foam on the beer.
Removing the foam from the top will preserve the foam layer as it removes the biggest bubbles that burst easier :D
