Hefei it the fitting distance from Chansha, but NE - as you were very specific I doubt that's it. Also: Shanghai is about 900km ENE, Hangzou about 750km, so is Ningbo ... hmmmm ...

You overshott it with Jinhua. Back about 300 km. It is in the Jiangxi provence, near the eastern border of Jiangxi.

That ruled out Nanchang.. so I got into the cities in between, first thought was Shangrao, because of the geenish hills around, but then I stumbled across this on aerial view "a few blocks north" ...

so ... it's Jingdezhen

@flipster, you correct, it is Jingdezhen. I came up with it because I am currently in Jingdezhen on a business trip. I took that picture a few days ago from the 31st floor of a hotel that has a revolving restaurant.

I took the photo last week while strolling along Salzach River on the Austrian banks - it's just a 20 min ride from my home.

Although the castle is the longest castle complex in the world (1051m), it is not that well known. Scenes of the 2011 movie "The Three Musketeers" with Christoph Waltz, Orlando Bloom and Milla Jovovich were shot there.
The castle as well as the historic old city are definitely worth a visit, especially during the annual "International Jazzweek Burghausen" or the medival festival.
